So I just took BEC. It’s the last section I need to pass. I have 3 more attempts/windows before any of my scores expire.

Should I continue studying today in case I have to retake it so I have more time to study? I have no idea how I did – same as with the times I passed.

No – relax and enjoy your life. You will have all of June to study.

Nope. Relax. Chill. Be Confident. Even if you didnt, no sweat, you're bound to get it eventually. BEC is tricky. But really go have some fun. Take your mind off the CPA exams until score release. You can't even take it again until July right? There is no rush.

Right. And I was thinking of taking it Aug. 31 if I had to retake so I could have even more time to study. So ~110 days if I were to keep studying. And ~85 days if I waited till scores were released.

I just don't want any scores to expire. But I guess I will chill out. Thanks guys.

What if I'm not working and have no other obligations (kids, school, etc.)? Does that change things at all?

If I was going by the assumption that I passed, I would probably chill out for a while (a couple weeks, maybe longer (by that time scores might have been released anyway)), then start looking for jobs or moving to another city that has more jobs.

I also might get bored doing nothing after a week or so while waiting for the scores to be released. So I might be in the mood to study (assuming that is possible and I haven't lost it). Would I be overexerting myself if I did study?

    tl;dr – I have a lot of time off.

I guess I was kinda in your shoes. I also studied for the CPA exams while having no other obligations. If you're comfortable with not doing anything “productive” with your time, hey thats your decision. You can definitely give yourself a reward.

I dont know what state you're in, but for California there is an ethics exam we also have to pass. So if there are other obligations you have to make before you receive your license, see fit that you meet them now. Maybe even consider some part-time work or internship even if its short-term. Spend some time researching CPA firms near your area. And really spend this time make a decision. A lot of younger accountants make the mistake of not really investing enough time making a sound decision when it comes to their career. They get an offer from a company and then stick there just happy that they are making adult money. So maybe spend these weeks making sure you come up with a plan of your future. Good luck!

No. When I took AUD for the 3rd time (my last exam) I kept studying because I was convinced I failed it. I ended up passing and wasted about 80 hours studying while I was waiting for my score. I regret doing that to myself.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

I am in your shoes as well; I take BEC a week from Friday and it is also my last one.

I considered continuing to study just in case, especially because as long as I don't get bumped out of Wave 1, it will only be 2 weeks between my exam and score release. However, I think it's more important to get some relaxation in there and give myself a break so I will not be continuing to study after my exam.

I like SammyJ's suggestion of seeing what else you need to do. I already took my Ethics exam, but if I hadn't this would have been a good time to do it. If your state requires an Ethics exam and you haven't done it already, see what you need to do it during your waiting for score time period. Also, take a look at your state's application and see if there's anything you need to pull together or submit to your state board (making sure they have all transcripts, for example).

Since you have that many attempts left, you could set aside any hardcore studying.for the time being. However, if you have any audio material such as the NINJA audios, I would suggetst listening to this to keep the information fresh. That is what I did for FAR. I took my exam on 1/28/13 and scores were not released until 2/22. I took about a week off and then continued to listen to the FAR NINJA audio….just in case. I didn't do one multiple choice question or open any book.

Turns out I didn't need it.

    Good Luck!

I guess I just feel like so pessimistic because I got pretty burnt out before this one. Only did about 80 MCQ or so the week before the test. Although I did well over 1,000 before this. So maybe it was enough.

I just felt a mix of apathy and stress before the test. Once it started I felt I did pretty well, but some of the questions in the first testlet, I was just like, “meh it's “B” or “C”, I guess I I'll just put “C””. While there was some reasoning behind my answers I just didn't really try to analyze them the same way I did before burning out a couple weeks ago. For example, if I narrowed it down to 2, I would try to analyze it from the perspective of the writers of the question and get it right usually. I just got tired of doing that.

I was also thinking a week or so before the test about if I was going to continue studying after the test, before results are released. Hopefully, this is all for nothing and I passed. Thanks for all the responses.

tl;dr – Was kind of burnt out before the test, so am more pessimistic about passing.
