Hi Everyone,

I took all four sections of the Becker CPA review back in late 2011, and by then they where teaching us materials that included changes coming in 2012. In February of 2012 I took and passed the BEC section of the CPA exam, but due to the craziness of life I was never able to take the additional 3 sections in the 18 months that followed. I was wondering if anyone know of any huge changes to the exam that may have happened in the past three years? The reason being is that I would like to reuse the rather costly materials I bought from Becker in 2011, but I’m wondering just how relevant they will still be.

I don't recommend using such old materials especially for AUD, FAR and REG. AUD had major changes in 2013 with the clarity project, FAR now includes IFRS and other changes that came with the framework, etc. Haven't taken REG yet but I can only assume there have been changes with regard to the tax code since 2011. If you want to use Becker have you considered calling them up and asking them about any discounts for previous users/purchases? I thought I read somewhere that they had one. Also, have you thought about purchasing the NINJA products? They are awesome, not as expensive as Becker and are enough to pass. Please take the time to research other alternatives without having to resort to using old material.

You mentioned AUD, REG, and FAR but not BEC do you know if there have been any changes on that?

Don't use them..they were written in 2010.

With affordable options out there, there's no good reason to use 4 or 5 year old materials.

I'm using 2013 Wiley Books. I graduate Grad school in 2013 and thought i was going to take the test right away. I supplement with Ninja MCQ (by the way they are great). Do I need more updated materials? Taking FAR in July.

@Key22 – There are some minor changes to every part of the exam (still very testable), and major changes to AUD that came about mid-2013. I'd update.
