Jeff, you are the man. I want to thank you for what you do. I'm in a similar boat you were; wife and two kids, passed FAR and BEC on the first try in the same quarter, then took some time off. I've now failed AUD once and REG twice with 74, 72, 74, respectively. Got my last 74 this morning and was feeling about as low as possible.

I've had the mindset that I was doing all I could, but after rereading this I know that's not true. I haven't studied enough.

It's time to pick myself up and get back after it.

    FAR - 75 (10/13)

    BEC - 79 (11/13)

    AUD - 74 (Retake 2/28/15)

    REG - 72, 74 (Retake 4/15)

    By thinking about howmany74s:

    1. how many times she had to sit for cpa exam (17)

    2. spent how many years (3.5) over studying

    3. after how many busy seasons she took no time off and just kept studying (8)

    4. how does she feel after passing today (planning to burn her books over the weekend and perform a wild dance around the fire)

Now, reschedule that test and get back to studying. It is going to be over at some point, trust me.

@FlaglerAmanda – Great Job on the scores and the timing between exams. What study materials are you using? and What has been your study methodology?

I am jumping back in saddle. I haven't been able to stick to my study plan and just seeking insight with CPA Excel. I don't have additional money to pump into additional materials so I am determined to get thru this exam with CPA Excel and Ninja TEN Point combo.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

@ejustdoit – Its tough. It took me a couple of months to get over my FAR miss (don't like saying fail). I never planned on retaking any of these exams and was a little embarrassed. I started again on January 5th and I am now reviewing but I am still thinking about pushing it back to April 1st to give me EXTRA review time. What is taking me so long during my review is making my own flashcards. It definitely adds time, but it helps, so it will be worth it. Everyone has life going on so time management is the most important.

Just make sure you dedicate the time, keep the big accounting picture in mind when studying, and don't get bogged down in the small details. It is really easy to get lost in some of the longer problems. I still do it at times and have to recharge. Hence, the reason I may push my retake back another month. The test is definitely manageable though. I missed because I was “weaker” on my SIMS. Good luck!

Skynet – Does Megan Fox know of your plan?

And also, after bringing back 8-tracks, why the need for a phase IV? I say you pull a George Costanza and leave on a high note! With Megan Fox, of course!

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.

Determined CPA : No Megan Fox does not know of my plan. She will be too busy filming TMNT 2. If I tell people my whole plan the Lingerie Pillow fight between Megan Fox and Scarlett Johannson will not get to happen.

Do you you really want to deprive the millions of guys of that?

@G@torCPA Thanks for the encouraging words. You were close. Stay with it. Which study materials are you using? You are right you can get bogged down in the details. Once I get behind schedule , according to CPAExcel, it's hard to catch up. Therefore discouraged….but good point. ..I shouldn't get buried on details. Thanks!

@Mt3130 – awesome job! My guess is that you studied full time?
