Finishing up my intermediate courses and it looks like my planned date to sit for the exam will be in 2016. What is the general consensus on good studying material for the CPA?

Right now I’m looking into Rogers CPA review and Wiley. I was going for Wiley, but I like the lecture style in the videos for Rogers. I’m more of a hands-on learner, I like doing problems and I like good explanations for why accounting rules work the way they do.

Any thoughts or other recommendations? Obviously I would like to save money, but I want to have something reliable to work with. I am tilting towards Rogers right now.

When I was in college, my professors were using Gleim materials to help us study for the class material. At the time I didn't understand why but later I did. I've used Wiley TB in the past and I liked it. I purchased Ninja TB but the interface frustrated me but I will still use it for a supplemental test bank.

I am like you. I prefer to kick out as many MCQs as I can but refer to the book if necessary.

I have been on this journey off and on for over 10 years. I think it's about time that I wrap this up.

I've heard great things about NINJA test questions banks. I've also heard good things about CPA Excel recently. I've used Becker in the past and thought it was a good study software/program. I did not finish (Becker course subscription expired) due to my own failure to keep other life-happenings from keeping me from continuing on in my studies and CPA testing. I am about to get back into it, however, and this time expect to FINISH.
