    Hi,

Does anyone know how the score exam expiry date works? This is for New York.

I have heard of someone who was supposed to lose credit on 12/31 (blackout month) but sat for the last exam on 1/2 and still received credit for both and ended up passing all 4 parts. Does this usually happen if you’re losing your credit at the end of the blackout month? Thanks!!

Just don't cut it that close lol

    FAR- 82
    REG- 93
    AUD- 89
    BEC- 88

You are smarter, more focused, and more brilliant than you give yourself credit for. Believe in yourself and truly know in your heart that you can do it.

I recently asked my state board (Texas) about expiration and they said I have to sit for the last section prior to the expiration date. My BEC credit expires 6/7/15, which is a dead month, so I have to sit for the final section before that date (could be as late as 5/31/14 and I would be OK). My score is put on “hold” until my score comes in. In the situation you described my credit would have expired.

For NY (I called bc about 2 weeks ago I had a panic attack over this) you have until the end of the testing period. So you will have until 2/28 to sit for the exam.

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Sounds like @Determined CPA's explanation is in line which what NASBA posted for NY's testing as seen below:

    New York

“You may take the required test sections individually and in any order, but are required to pass all four sections of the examination within a rolling 18 month period, which begins and ends at the end of non-testing windows (March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31).

Examination credit expires by section. You will lose credit for each section passed outside the 18 month period, and will have to retake those sections.”
