So Jeff, if I am following your video correctly, your predicting Wave 1 of FAR to be Nov 17? And what would the cut off date be for possibly being in Wave 1? Thanks.
Yep - November 7th should be the cutoff, but don't be surprised if you see people reporting that they sat on the 12th and have their BEC score...happened last window.
Sounds good. Thanks for getting back to me.
Instead of having 4 different threads for each section, I'm going to see how only using one goes. That way the info is all in one place and REG people aren't reporting in the REG thread what a BEC person just said, etc.
Hope it's an improvement...we shall see.
I am so impatient, wish they would release the darn scores already!
lol let's get this thread started already! a week and a half early! Yaaaa :D
@Connie
I'm so with you. I took REG on 10/1 and I'm dying from the agony. This wait is surely the longest I've waited for a score. Luckily, I'm taking BEC next Friday so I'll have my REG score AFTER I take it. LOL
GL
I'm waiting for 2 scores this window so I like the idea of combining the threads ! I won't have to click back and forth, haha... can't wait for these scores to come out !
@Chicpamom
i also tooke REG on 10/1 but aslo tooke BEC on 10/10 that was expired when i didn't pass the REG, now i am really dead waiting as i will loose credit for audit if I didn't pass any of those two parts.
gingers crossed for about a month now.
BEC on the 12th? AUD on the 15th?
I'm waiting for both, and I took both in October. I think I'll just wait til the 15th to check my scores online.. that way it's just one difficult, emotional process.
I took FAR on 10/8 and it's my last section - I'm hoping I'll be Wave 1 and get a pass! I don't want to deal with studying for a whole new FAR section next year when they change things around....Can we fastforward to next week? lol!
I took FAR Oct 30 and I'm taking BEC November 30.. Does this mean I could actually have my FAR scores before I take BEC, and have my BEC scores before Christmas?! This seems a little too good to be true considering the experience I had getting my AUD scores back over the summer...
CPA2011- yes that is what I got from Jeff's video... provided you don't get bumped from wave 1 --> 2 with FAR.... I'm hoping he's off by a week and I can be included in wave 1, I know its evil, but its my last section but also will probably be "okay" with waiting until right before christmas....
If the BEC prediction is Friday the 12th - is that the day NASBA will post the scores online...? Or is the 12th the prediction for AICPA to send scores to NASBA and then we won't see the scores until Monday...?
AICPA release time, I believe
Oh really? Ah that is unfortunate.. Another weekend of waiting!
CA_CPA,
if you're in California, your BEC score will be released on Saturday morning at around 5:30am.
Obviously, if the AICPA releases them on Friday.
O goodness, I'm from California and I was thinking I will have my score on Friday morning!
on the state board website
So suppose if AICPA releases the scores on Fri, is there even a slight possibility that the scores will be available on Saturday? Was there ever in time in history, when a situation like this occurred. I'm in NY(Nasba state) Thanks!
If AICPA releases BEC on Friday, some independent states like Cali and Illinois will get them on saturday. This is what I've seen from the past. Unfortunately, NASBA states will have to wait until Monday.
Haha well done on the video jeff..."one knotch below a weatherman" rofl
:_(, tears to my eyes! idk if i can wait another weekended for these scores.Studying for Reg on top of that!
Are we there yet??
I really hope I don't start 0 for 2 but I didn't feel too good when I took BEC, I guess we will see come tomorrow
@Pray475
keep fingers crossed, BEC usually not a bad one.
Will we find out BEC tomorrow? Or is the AICPA releasing scores tomorrow and we'll find out Monday?
@johnnyla, if you are in an early bird satae like CA you may see it Saturday, if AICPA realeases tomorrow.
I'm really hoping for BEC to be released tomorrow so I can get it saturday (Illinois). This will put me in a crazy good mood or crazy depressed as I take REG (again) next week. In Jeff I trust cuz he's been almost dead accurate on past predictions!
Fighting Illini CPA!
I'm waiting for my AUD score AND retaking REG next week in IL!
Best of luck to you on both!! We are so going to finish this in 2010! YES!
I can do it,
Good luck to you too on your score and re-take! Didn't it suck having to re-open the REG materials? Once I got going, I realized I really wasn't that prepared the first time around. Hopefully, this time I'll rock it! Hope you do too. We're gonna be right back here around Christmas waiting for our REG scores...haha!
Fighting Illini CPA,
I couldn't agree with you more about restudying REG material. I realized how I just memorized my practice questions and answers rather than fully understanding it! But it can also be our advantage since we both know how to cover our previous weeknesses! I will go rock REG after you do on 17th! =)
I can't take it anymore, time is going so slow now... damn it !
So...I've never done this before...will I get an email saying my scores are posted or do I just have to refresh the site a million times?
@Liz317
welcome, i am doing that for about 2 years now. and this is the most frustrating thing in the CPA, the WAIT.
F5 will become your best friend for the next few days, but being around other people waiting like us makes it alot easier.
good luck:)
Liz - depending on what state you are in the process might be a little different. NASBA sites seem to post the scores after 10:00PM a day after AICPA releases them. Some independent states post the very next morning, Cali even posts on Saturday if the AICPA releases Friday. (not sure if any other states do). Some only snail mail results and from what I've read Wisconsin has to wait until all the exams are graded before any are released and there's only a *final wave* at the end of the testing quarter.
That being said I'm really bummed the result watch doesn't work anymore, & I've had good luck waiting till the next morning to check my results so I'll be attempting that this quarter since I'll likely get results and test within a day or two. Probably shouldn't waste time with the F5 this time.
For my last exam, I'm definitely hanging out all night until I get results, and hopefully having a celebration drink after! :)
are we there yet?
What time of the day are the scores usually available (I am waiting on BEC from CT wave 1 and FAR wave 1?
night time !! I can't wait already !
Jwake1... I am from CT as well... If AICPA releases scores today than we will see the scores Monday night for BEC
We will find out in the afternoon if AICPA released something or not.
I took AUD on Nov. 8th. Do you think there is any chance that my scores will be in the 1st wave? If so how will I know the cut off date or will I just have to anxiously check my mailbox everyday? I really do not want to wait until around X-mas to find out how I did!!!
Morning everyone,
Just wanted to remind/inform everyone that NASBA recently updated when they tell us they have received the AICPA scores.
What used to happen (for the new ppl's info):
The AICPA would release scores to NASBA and NASBA would tweet that day that they had received the scores. The next morning the Indie states (CA, VA, and some others) would receive there scores. Then later that night 10:15pm EST the rest of the NASBA scores would be released. So you would have to wait a day and a half after knowing NASBA has your score to get your score.
What happens now?
The AICPA will release to NASBA, but NASBA will not tweet that same day. Instead they do a facebook thing at about 10:05am EST the following day (thus we do not "know" NASBA has the scores when they have then). They will then later tweet this message, normally about noon or so. By the time all of this happens CA will have already received their scores and that is how we know what has been released. For us on the east coast, CA normally receives there scores at about 8:30am EST so we should know about 1.5 hrs before NASBA releases the information that they have scores.
What does this do?
1. I think it is beneficially for us... we do not worry about it for that extra night, we will find out scores will be released the day they will be released...
2. Stops a ton of phone calls to NASBA... they cut off a more than 12 hr period where they used to get an alarming number of phone calls.
3. The result of fewer calls should keep the fees where they are... With the increasing number of candidates, the number of calls would tend to increase meaning more administrative fees for NASBA. Eventually they would have to raise the price of the tests.
Now when you hear CA has their scores (prediction tomorrow morning) you will be able to check the loophole for many states. At that time it SHOULD work, but no gaurantees... I would wait for someone to say they can re-register in your state before you get excited that you passed because you cannot. Last window the loophole DID start working on a Saturday, in prior windows we did not think that was the case. We used to want to wait till Monday to be sure...
Keep in mind that NASBA is aware of the loophole and is "fixing" the issue. This has been said for 2 testing windows now, but has not been fixed. Generally if someone can re-register and you cannot you are all set. Make sure you know that they are from your state to be sure. The loophole does not work in everystate, but I know it does in most.
I will end by saying, Good Luck to you all - Wish you the best, but most of all keep smiling knowing that one day you will be a CPA!
And to add to that Trevor, thanks for the lengthy post.... you used to be able to call NASBA to see if they got your score, as of Wave 2 last quarter, they changed this and would not tell you anything besides the fact that you would get the score at the end of the black out month. So I would say no to bother as it just is more frustrating to yourself to call and learn not much else. Have a great weekend everyone and best of luck in score releases!!
Jeff: Any whispers this morning?
Thanks Michelle!
Also good luck, I am pulling for you. I thought I was a motivated person, but I have nothing on you! Grad school and CPA exam = not fun... Very impressed to say the least. Again, good luck not just on the exam, but grad school and life - you are going places no doubt!
Trevor- thanks!! any helpful hints before I go into this in about 1.5 hrs..... besides I should get off the couch and get my butt moving to get there haha
haha, I am sure you prepared weel enough. Relax and trust yourself. Anything I tell you now will just make you second guess yourself. Good luck and believe what you have done thus far, it has worked! You got this no problem
*well*
antoine dodson kept me going on those days I was really struggling to study
There's a little bit of Antoine Dodson in all of us, I think.
OMG Jeff that is hilarious!!! I am laughing too hard. Had to share this with a co-worker.
Im in the office with limited internet capability (cant view anything) when is Aud scheduled to be released?
Butch - I'm still hoping AICPA AUD release Monday with a NASBA release...Monday night???
:)
More to come on that.
Jeff, Can you confirm Trevor's post about the new format.
Trevor's post is spot-on.
There is a twist however that isn't public knowledge yet (it's a good twist).
I'll be waterboarded (the real kind - not the 12 second investigative journalist kind) and my college transcripts will end up on Wiki Leaks if I divulge any info ahead of time.
And now you have caused an epic panic on another71.com Jeff. You know its not good to say you have a secret and then say you cant share that secret...=*)
The transparency of the score release process is moving in a positive direction, I'll say that much.
When does this twist become public information??
Is the REG release still slated for Monday 11/22?
