    Hello Friends,

This is the only place where I can write or ask anything. I am originally from Asian country I came here before 7 years and since then I am doing only 1 thing that is STUDYING. First I did my Masters in Accountancy after than took a break for pregnancy and once baby was little over 8 months I started studying for CPA and cleared all the exams on my first try. Back there in my home country I was working as an accounting professional but after coming to US was on dependent visa so working was off the shit.

Now, I am done with my all the tests and everything and posses valid working permit I feel I am in middle of no where. I am trying since past 3 weeks, applying every single place but didnt even received a single call from a recruiter. It’s frustrating.

Can you please suggest me where to start from? Basically which positions to shoot for? I dont have any US based experience but used to work back there in my home country got promoted twice in 5 years and was working as Accounting Manager when I left. But I am not sure how to launch myself in a fresh market where I never had any experience.

Please guys tell me what to do? Which positions are good in my situation. Jr accountant, accountant, clerk, staff accountant or something else. As I certainly don’t want to waste my time, I am really excited to go back to work and really doesn’t want to make those mistakes which can harm my career start.

Really appreciate all of your inputs, thoughts and words.

    Please help!

Three pieces of advice for you. First, be patient. Three weeks is very short time to become frustrated with a job search. It is january, beginning of busy season in public and year end in industry. Frankly calling for interviews is bound to be lower priority right now. Second, read the job descriptions carefully and focus less on titles. You have experience, internationally but still possibly relevant. If a job requires skills you posess apply for it. Finally you might want to have someone review your resume. Writing a resume that resonates with employers is challenging, and it should be modified for each position you apply to in order to accentuate your qualifications for that position.

No_one in which state you are currently residing? Did you took your masters degree from US? I thought passing the CPA exam would help you getting job especially if you have a relevant job experience.

With your licensing under process you may have better luck if you wait until it's issued before applying.
