How important is the study guides (more comprehensive than study text in the core study materials) in passing AUD? Were you able to get through just by using the core study materials plus perhaps a combination of other materials such as WTB.

I used CPA Excel for study for Audit and I only used the study text included in the online course. I've only used that material for both exams I've taken (I passed both). I was actually under the impression that the only difference between the study text and the books you can buy is that one is online and the other is in book format.

Thanks for the quick response pnielsen. The question only crossed my mind when I noticed some questions the answers for which are not sufficiently covered in the study text of the online course.

Good to know that the online course is likely to be good enough to pass this part.

    Did you answer proficiency questions?

Yes. What I do is read the study text, look over the slides or watch the video if I really don't understand it (I think I've literally watched like 5 videos – total waste of money), do the flashcards, do the proficiency questions, and then do the exam questions.

While I'm going through the sections, I write my own notes. After I've gone through all the sections, I go back to areas I didn't feel as strong on and review them again. I also review the notes I've written. Then I take the simulated CPA exam, review any areas where I feel weak still, and then take the exam.

I do the same as pnielsen1982

Worked well for the last two I've taken parts, I hope it does for AUD as well.

I also read the text on my own and only do the videos if I do not understand something. I am finding CPAExcel much more effective than Becker!

@JDubb416 for the price, it's a good set up. I hear Roger is also really good.

but if you're paying for the CPA and your firm isn't, no reason to go Becker imo
