Hi everyone, I am an Italian citizen (live and work in Europe) and after months and months of communication with NASBA and NIES I was finally able to get green light for sitting for the CPA exam. My education was evaluated and I was told that the only jurisdiction where I could sit for the exam is New Jersey.
I am about to sign up for the first module, but before paying all the fees i called the NJ board of accountancy to get details regarding licensure. Turns out that NJ grands licensure to candidate with at least 1 year of work under a CPA (which I do not have I suppose – I have worked in Accounting in the insurance industry for the past 6 years). NJ does not even grants certifications only.
What should I do? Will it be worth to take the four modules and pay all the fees (and plane tickets to the US) and then do not get the CPA licensure?
My motivation -after 10 months of waiting- is totally gone!
thank you for your help!
