hey eddie – i would probably put it in the cover letter. if you wanna put it on your resume, i would put it under maybe “honors/activities” or “achievements” just so it stands out! hope that helps 🙂

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

Your can put it under Education – pursuing CPA passed …. BEC score pending. This is where one of the recruiters had me list it.

    FAR - 95
    AUD - 82
    REG - 94
    BEC - 84

i wouldn't mention anything about BEC because you don't know if you passed or not (hopefully you did!!)…once you find out you can mention it to them in the interview process, etc.

i would put under achievements (or education) wherever you put it..put how gabe worded it:

Currently pursuing CPA exam with two sections passed

something to that effect. if you wanna put the sections passed..maybe put them as sub-bullets. i dunno if they would care so much about which ones you passed as to how many

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

if you do mention the sections passed (as a sub-bullet) under Currently pursuing CPA exam…you could add BEC score pending like gabe said

    personal preference i guess

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

Actually I agree with Mponi, don't put the part you have not passed, I was not thinking of it that way when I put my original post.

Do you have any experience, simple bank recs, account reconciliation, journal entries. Anything related to accounting would help. If this is your first job, the fact that you have several parts passed should help. Also if you are open to it you could go to a smaller CPA firm, somethimes the competition is not as bad. That is how I started out 11 years ago.

    FAR - 95
    AUD - 82
    REG - 94
    BEC - 84

If you're a new hire (no accounting experience) labeling specific skills related to accounting doesn't really matter so much. Big4 cares more about if you can be in front of clients and represent the firm well.

If you're an experienced hire then you could list types of issues you've dealt with (certain revenue recognition in XYZ industry, M&A transaction, etc).

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86

This thread is a little old, but somewhat answers my question. I want to put on my resume that I have passed all four sections. I will list it under,”SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS” and write, “CPA Exam: four of four sections passed”. Now is that the proper way to write this or is there a better method?

I would word it something like successfully completed all four parts of the CPA exam. If all on the first try you can add on the first attempt but that's not necessary.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I put it under “Education and experience” before my bachelors info. Put it as high on the page as possible! I wrote “Actively pursuing CPA certification” and at the time I had only two parts passed so I wrote “BEC and AUD passed, REG and FAR scheduled for August 2012 and January 2013, respectively.” I would let them know somehow that you've got the others scheduled/pending, just because some people take an eternity in between the sections. Employers want to see that you have a plan.

Never put your scores, at least that's what I was told. I definitely would not put “on first attempt.” They asked me in the interview how many attempts it took me and I told them then that I passed both on the first try.

If you've completed all four parts, I would think the proper way to say it would be “Successfully completed all sections of the CPA exam” or something to that effect.

    BEC: (4/2012) 88
    AUD: (5/2012) 91
    REG: (8/2012) 82
    FAR: (1/2013) 78 🙂

I wonder about using BEC, FAR, REG, and AUD as abbreviations. At a lot of companies, Human Resources will review your resume before it ever hits the desk of a finance/accounting manager, and they might not know what the heck those things mean. I work at a Fortune 100 company and roughly half of my department has a CPA. Even many of the managers who took the exam in the 80's or 90's when the exam sections were different may have to think for awhile before they figure out what BEC/FAR/REG/AUD mean.

Once you pass the whole exam, I'd go with:

CPA exam completed, licensure pending completion of experience requirement. Anticipated June 2013

i had it under “Professional Strength” and said “Pursuing CPA license in (Insert State Here)” – and then they'll ask you & you can say that you passed however many parts and are waiting on parts, and what you plan is for parts you havent passed or taken recently

i've also seen it under “Certifications” and then spell out that you've passed whatever specific sections (Auditing rather than AUD), and that you are in pursuit of other sections – or put that you've passed 2 sections, and waiting on 1 or whatever

Edit: on resume is where i had it & where i've seen it

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

I have a separate section under education titled “certifications”. In process like that I would just put an expected completion date and “X of 4 exams passed”. If they are curious about which ones they will ask in interview. I would probably also skip any further details in the cover letter other than to mention that you are in pursuit of CPA.
