CPA Reciprocity Exam

    Team,

I need some help. Earlier this year I completed all of my CPA exanimations, fulfilled the state experience and education requirements and was became a licensed CPA in the state of New Hampshire.

    I did this with;

    – 120 credit hours of educational experiences

    – 3000 hrs work experience (currently employed with KPMG in major North American city)

I am attempting to take the Canadian reciprocity exam however to do so one must be a member of a recognized US State Board of Accountancy, the State of New Hampshire Board of Accountancy is not listed on the recognized US State Board of Accountancy list. See Schedule A of Regulation 6-2. https://www.cpaontario.ca/Resources/Membershandbook/1011page2634.pdf

My question to you all – is there any state identified in the above Schedule A that will allow me to transfer my NH license (albeit a ethics exam may be required) with my education and work experience? If not, the closest state?

    Thanks

Side note – I used this website as a reference throughout my CPA examination process. Great group of individuals on these boards. A massive thank you for that!

I don't know the answer to your question, but can suggest how you can find out.

It won't be fun. You need to be patient, persistent, and approach it with the spirit of going on a scavenger hunt….

Open in googlemaps, the U.S. map.

Follow the map to see the names of the individual states.

Go to each state's website and look up their license requirements.

I actually did this because I am not getting certified through my state of residence.

I was looking for whichever state would allow me to get licensed the fastest.

As you get info from each state's website, take good notes, for future reference.

I created a spreadsheet with one row for each state's info.

    Good luck with your search.

It won't take as long as might seem.

    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14

I took the CA exam in (BC) and the CPA in (California). I know there is a reciprocity exam between the two. I don't know if New Hampshire > California has one.

I'd call the provincial board, in my case it was the ICABC and then the state board and confirm with the two before you go about it.
