I recently received my CPA license and completed my masters with a 3.8 GPA. I have been working at a small account firm (6 employees) for a little over a year now. Currently, I am responsible for approximately 100 companies and 150+ individuals. My responsibilities include all the services that we provide for the specific client. This may be monthly bookkeeping, sales tax filings, payroll liability calculations and filings, tax planning, and annual filing. I am also responsible for overseeing another employee that is responsible for approximately 85 companies. I am currently being paid $15.00/hr with NO vacation or sick days. We typically work 40-45 hours a week, and 50-55 during tax season. I feel as though I’m underpaid but I don’t have much to compare it to since most firms pay salary and I do not know the number of hours worked. Any input on this would really be appreciated! Thank you!
