Does anyone know of a good source to find salaries of CPAs in your area? I have about 6.5 years of experience and just finished the CPA exam. I feel as though I am currently underpaid and when I receive my license I was hoping to renegotiate my salary. I am hoping to find a resource (or a few) where I can get an idea of what I should be making. Thank you in advance!

    FAR - 58/72/75
    AUD - 80
    BEC - 71/78
    REG - 80

DONE!!! "If you can dream it, you can do it!"

Robert Half has a good salary chart, and of course Salary.com is a good resource. Salary.com always seems a little high to me though, even when I use my exact title and location.

    Far: 49
    BEC: 79 (Expired)
    AUD: 51, 67, 64
    REG: 59, 64, 59, 69

Congrats! I would look at the Robert Half Salary Survey. It is very comprehensive. I also look at job postings, talk to recruiters, glassdoor.com to try to get an idea of my market rate and marketability.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

To get more local numbers, the method I've used is to look up the average wage in my area using quickfacts.census.gov and compare that to the national average to get local wages as a percent of national, then use that factor to adjust wages. There's other factors that weigh in, like percentage of people locally who have professional jobs vs. those working menial labor etc., so it's not a 100% accurate method, but it helps me, especially since my locality is very different from national averages (last I checked, wages here were about 55% of national average).

+1 to above reference to Robert Half website. You can search the anonymous job postings (since Robert Half reps them instead of the company itself) and they usually have a salary or range listed next to it. Some are stupid and say “DOE” (depending on experience), but you can at least search your zip codes nearby and get a general idea of the low/medium/high range of pay for different types of jobs.

Of course, you can also see things on Salary.com and Glassdoor, but those seem to be all over the place.
