    Hello everyone,

So I will be attending my state’s CPA society dinner and award night. This will be my first and the CPA certificates will be given to the new CPAs at this event. I have two kids that I plan to take to the event (ages below 4) . I know is a big networking event and am just curious to know if attending the event with kids be a good idea. For those that have attended these events, do you advise going with the kids and is it unusual to see kids in events like this. I will be going with my spouse and I don’t have a place to put them, cos its a dinner and it is in another state from where I reside. Thank you.

I would not take children to this. If the only choice I had was for my husband to stay behind with the kids while I attended that is exactly what I would do. For anything business or professional unless they're specifically including events for kids I say leave them behind.

And I do have children, two of them.

    I have to second mla11692.

Leave the spouse/husband/baby daddy, if you have to.

Late response….But you should not take children (that young) to an event like this children are easily aggravated and restless so enjoy the ceremony and adult time with your peers. The children are too young to know what's going on or even appreciate where they are. Take this time to introduce yourself and network. So no children.

Enjoy…..you might not get too many chances to get away again……lol

I'm sure its hard because its something you want to share especially with your spouse, but a mom's got to do what a mom's got to do.
