    Wiley Question –

    Hi guys,

I wanted to ask about those who have used CPAExcel for their REG preparation. I am not a big fan of Tax, and Becker is not that great in the Tax portion. I am not too considered about the Law section, but, only about the Tax Portion. Has anyone liked CPA Excel’s teaching for Tax? How is the instructor? I tried to find Demo’s, but, there is not much there. In addition, I have not heard a lot of people talk about CPA Excel for REG. Can anyone provide some insight and if CPAExcel (just for the Tax portion) was good or not?

    Thanks!

I used CPAExcel (before it was purchased by Wiley). I thought it was very good for REG. I scored in the mid 90s. I would recommend it if you are crunched on time and have to study on your own.

    All done.

I think CPAexcel does a great job to prepare one for REG. There is a lot of material so don't rush through just to finish it….actually understand and absorb what you are learning. And especially know your weaker areas, don't take a chance that they won't be tested because they probably will!

    BEC - 75
    FAR - 85
    REG - 82

    AUD 5/30/15 (80)
    BEC 11/28/15 (75)
    FAR 7/30/16

I only have the cheaper package of CPAExcel. I didn't have the videos. I used it for all sections + WTB. Just like @tax lady said, don't rush just to finish. I had no federal taxation and law courses background in the US, I still got an 89. I did all those MCQs twice though. 😛 Could't complain as my CPAExcel Review course was $0 cost and I passed all on the first try. Somehow, I won in their monthly drawing.

Anything worth doing is probably not easy, but the rewards are worth it. (unknown)

I'm about halfway through the tax portion so far. I think they've pretty good so far, videos are DEFINITELY helpful. I wouldn't be able to study this with just a book. I've heard CPA Excel goes into a lot more detail than you need, but that's never really a bad thing.

I used CPA Excel for my first two and passed FAR and BEC. They're perfectly adequate.
