    Wiley Question –

    Hi guys,

I recently purchased CPAExcel for FAR and they just arrived at my house. I got 2 books about 600 pages per book. It looks overwhelmingly a lot of material. is it even humanly possible to go through 12,000 pages in a matter of 3months?? I must say i’m not a recent graduate i have not studied anything in more than 5 years. I’ve heard Becker only has one book and it is only about 400 or 500 in total.

Please help, did i pick the wrong material?

Has anyone used CPAExcel for FAR before???

I used CPA Excel for FAR, studied for 8 weeks before taking FAR back in Oct 2012. Failed with a 71 and did my retake in Jan 2013. It is definitely possible to get through all the FAR material in 3 months, just put in your “timeline” (I can't remember what they call it), and the software will tell you what to study every day. Also, I had been out of school for 3.5 years when I started studying, so I think it's good for people that haven't studied in awhile. Good luck! 🙂

It's possible they sent you 2 books on accident. Are they the same?

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

I used CPAExcel and FAR does include two textbooks to cover all of the material. It seems overwhelming, but if you manage your time well, it shouldn't be a problem. The schedule included with CPAExcel really helped me stay on top of the material and not fall behind.

    AUD - 07/2012 - Passed
    FAR - 10/2012 - Passed
    REG - 11/2012 - Passed
    BEC - 01/2013 - Passed

Thank you C32 and nickc08, That was helpful and comforting. Jeff- another 71.com no they did not make a mistake, it comes with 2books. lots and lots of material.

and the fact that I'm a very slow reader it doesn't help at all…

When I initially started my CPA journey. I purchased a gold package from CPAexcel. I studied FAR for 1 month and decided that CPAexcel was not for me. In my opinion, the material covers so much information in DETAILs. It seems like every topic are so important to them and the lecture videos are very short. As a result, It took so much of my time trying to understand and remembered the information and I got overwhelmed and ended up not being able to retain any infor. I returned the material back and got a refund. I switched to Becker and love it…

It all depends on your learning style. You can try CPAexcel out for a month if you dont like, you can get a refund (they are really good in terms of that, i have to give them credit for it).

    Good Luck
