    NINJA Question –

I’ve been studying for FAR using CPAExcel and just purchased the FAR Ninja notes for help. Has anyone used the two yet and were you able to match up the ninja notes chapters with the CPAExcel lessons at all?

I used both as well. I didn't find a connection between the two but I actually kinda liked that because it made my brain skip around and it forced me to really consider whether I knew a topic or not.

I also used both and found that it helped reinforce the topics I was struggling to understand. CPAExcel had SO much material for FAR, it was nice to have the Notes. Good luck!

Did u use the ninja notes as a guide to trim down the CPAExcel content since there is so much or did you just do both all the way through?

I used the Notes to help understand some topics that were confusing me while I was studying and then used them to trim down the content during my final review. They were a total timesaver for me!

    What BuckyCPA said.

CPAExcel tends to drag out, making things unnecessarily long, the Ninja notes help.

Notes definitely condense it down into the “must-know” aspects of the exam. Definitely a wonderful tool to decide where you want to focus your attention on in CPAExcel.

I'm using CPAExcel as well. I bought the “Platinum” version that included the wiley books, flash cards, exam review focus notes, and the wiley test bank.

I can't attest to the Ninja notes, but the focus notes that came with my review course have been a life saver and are what helped me pass FAR.

It took me close to 8 weeks to get through the CPAExcel lectures for FAR and afterwards I spent 3 weeks reviewing once I finished the CPAExcel program and all I did was hammer MCQ's and read through the focus notes for those last 3 weeks.

Without having the focus notes and hammering MCQ's the last couple of weeks there is no way I would have passed. There was so much stuff that I went over in the CPAExcel lectures that I never saw again once I got to the focus notes.

Using CPAExcel + Wiley Test Bank

    FAR - 76 8/5/2014
    AUD - 84 10/11/2014
    REG - 83 01/02/2015 failed once on 11/26/15 w/ a 72
    BEC - 79 05/30/15

REG was the first section (I had already passed BEC and AUD) where I felt like I was really struggling to get through the CPAExcel materials. I was doing much worse on practice MCQs and felt like I wasn't absorbing things when I kept going through them. I bought the Ninja Audio which folks have said is similar in content to the Ninja Notes. I put them on a CD and listened to them in my car to and from work to help cement things after completing all the CPAExcel materials. I think it helped a ton because it highlighted a few areas that I needed to focus on a little bit more. It also helped simplify a few things.

    BEC 7/12/13 - 84
    AUD 8/31/13 - 86
    REG 4/11/14 - 84
    FAR 5/30/14 - 88

@guitarsalad – I'm studying for REG now and having a tough time getting through the materials/absorbing everything as well. I got the Ninja Notes for REG and haven't had much time to review, but will start now. Thanks!
