I use Becker for my review but I have been supplementing with CPAreviewforfree questions on and off. These questions are NOT easy at all. I'm doing OK on the Becker questions but on some of these CPAreviewforfree questions I'm getting only 60-70% right. They seem so long and complicated compared to questions I'm used to from Becker. Does anybody have any opinions on CPAreviewforfree.com? Should I be concerned that I'm sometimes having difficulty answering their questions?

CPA Review for Free has some great questions. I had 3 of their questions on the AUD exam, but none on the BEC exam.

I used the CPA review for free in BEC and I have 2 questions from my actual exam. It is pretty good but kind of tough. I am currently using it to supplement my materials in Auditing and found it very it helpful. Don't worry if you get lower score the main thing is that you have reinforce your concept and will help you be prepared to take the actual exam. The more MCQ's you answered the better your chances to pass the exam.

BEC 2/8/10 - 75 (studied hard & prayed less)
REG 5/15/10 - 88 (studied less but prayed hard)
AUDITING 8/9/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard)
FAR 11/30/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard) Thanks GOD! I'm DONE

I think it is a great supplement. I used it for both AUD and BEC, and I believe I got some questions on my AUD exam from there. It is great for practice, and yeah there are hard questions, so don't worry about your score so much. Just get the practice.

pls how many multiple choice questions can u guys solve in a day...........my speed is very poor and i want to cover as many as is possible for me , b4 d day. it seems impossible right now............pls advise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in addition were do u get yr questions from? and which gives u the best questions.........................

I don't think it is a good idea to compare how many mc questions you can do a day vs someone else. I think the range is far too wide. The important aspect is what you are learning. I mean, I could technically go through 500 questions in one day and not learn a damn thing which would just be a complete waste of time. Do them at your own pace and make sure you are learning from them.

CPAreviewforfree provides very valuable explanations for every multiple choice question they have. Even if you get a question right, the explanation of why this particular answer is right will be explained to you. It is really a good way to understand and/or to reinforce the underlying concept.

I used cpareviewforfree for the AUD section that I took the end of May. Hopefully I can tell you this week that it was very helpful.

This is exactly the question I have in mind when I logged in on this site today. I'm done doign wiley's mcqs and tried cpareviewforfree mcq's and I find the questions in that site pretty wordy, tricky and tough compared to the ones at wiley's.

I have passed 3 of 4 sections so far using CPAexcel and CPAreviewforfree.com (I started using both post failing REG the first time). These were REG, BEC, and AUD. I honestly can say that I could have easily passed REG, BEC, and AUD soley using cpareviewforfree.com looking back at it. If you actually read the explainations instead of mindlessly going through problem after problem to the point of memorization you will do fine.

However, for FAR...no way...you need lectures, text, more detailed explainations for FAR. That's just my opinion.

I found the questions very challenging. Got like 20%. I was so shocked that I've changed the way I study since then.
Hopefully it's not too late!

It helped me a lot for FAR, if I hadn't taken a random test off that website, I would never have studied that one topic (which I can't disclose obviously) which, I swear, were like 6 questions on the actual test. Becker placed almost no emphasis on that topic. If I pass FAR, a good portion of my thanks will go to that website. Make good use of it, don't worry about the question difficulty...like a lot of people said, it's more important to understand why you got it wrong

Your feedback is interesting. So you took a random test of only 20 questions, or did you do a good chunk of those questions for FAR?

just a random test out of the hundreds they had, it had one or two questions i really messed up on, and i studied up on it a little more. It happened to be on the test, hope I got them right.

The author of the site focuses on the "meat" of the exam hence, not the ones the exam will rarely test or will probably not count and not the easy question. He focuses on the questions that would make or break the candidate. That's probably why so many of the questions he has are part of the exam you took.

I have gotten 20/20 once in his auditing section. He used to have it that you passed if you scored 50% or above but changed it recently to 75%. I'm usually happy if I'm getting 70-75% right, you learn a lot by going through every question and understanding why you got them wrong.

I know for a fact on BEC the author was right on the money with his questions. You easily can pass BEC just going through the questions on that site I firmly believe it. I think his BEC and AUD sections are probably the best of the 4 sections he has up there. REG is great for the tax section, but not very strong for the rest of the exam. FAR is just a beast in general, you have to have other study material to pass that part IMO.

Correct me if Im wrong but I thought CPAreviewforfree was made by the guy who owns the site? If that was so, then how would those questions be up on the actual exam??

They aren't exam questions. He creates them, but the subject matter is pretty much what is on the exam. The questions he writes tend to be more difficult than the actual questions on the exam, however, his explaination are very clear. I've learned more from reading his explainations at time then my study material because he would explain the concept in a paragraph vs. say several pages in another review course.

Past exam questions are nice, but I've noticed on exams I've taken they alway tweek a thing or two on the questions to make them look different then what your used to seeing on the practice exams you take.

for AUD I saw a couple questions that were pretty much word for word from the site...maybe 1 word difference

I can't remember if I did all 500 of them...I did a lot of them for sure. I did every single one on the wiley cd at least once, and every single one in the wiley book at least once. I may have done every single one in the book twice. For the big areas like internal control, evidence, and the reports I may have done the book and cd 3 times.

The way I do it I try to hit the random questions twice a day everyday. That's 40 of his questions. For FAR your probably only going to get to 20 a day, but something like AUD you can probably get to 60 a day because they are more conceptual. 40 a day is good, I also tend to e-mail the author a bunch and he is quick to respond to any questions I have. He really cares to see people pass and I send him thank you letters every time I have passed a section. I usually get through most of them during the workday from lunchbreak or just slow parts in the day or somethins just waiting for a report to load I just hit a question right there etc etc.

Oh yeah, if your wondering, I'm not uber hard core on the studying side. I just try to be as efficient as possible with my studying. FAR has been the only material I have gone hard core on.

The reason I ask is because I have a 2009 Becker review that is the meat of my Audit study which has over 1,000 questions. I also have a 2007 Wiley test bank CD with 700+ questions. Cpareviewforfree has 500+. I want to be efficient but I get overwhelmed with all the questions I'd like to go through. I plan to do all the Becker questions, including supplemental, at least twice. Working full time will not allow me to take time to do ALL of this so I want advice.

financeguy, I really liked what you posted the other day about being in the top% that pass. I truly hope I have outstudied the others enough to pass.

You said the key word, and that is overwhelmed! I read about people on here using yaeger, combined w/ becker, and gleim, and bisk, and...
I don't know how you guys do it! I can't even make it through all the stuff of just 1 single review course (Yaeger). I honestly think that using more than 1 review course does more damage than it helps. Your goal is not to make it through as much review material as possible...your goal is to be an expert on as much review material as possible. That being said, any 1 single course will provide you w/ enough info to pass this exam.

I personally like cpareviewforfree.com because I do questions at work. Can't do that with most software because of how the software works. You can use through a smartphone or Iphone as well which is great to sneak in a few study questions at work.

I sneak in as much study time at work as I can. The site is the ultimate way to slack at work and study for your license lol.

I am new here and will appreciate any suggestion any of you can provide me as to which CPA review material to use. I am looking for the most economical yet effective way to study for the exam. Do you think by buying Wiley's books and working on the questions from cpareviewforfree will be enough to prepare me for the exams? I have been out of school for more than 3 years and my work experience has nothing to do with accounting. I have just learn that they will be adding new exam materials starting next year, and I'd like to take either FAR or AUD, or maybe both in November. You think I still have enough time to prepare for them? provided maybe I can only devote 2 to 3 hours a day to study during weekdays, and maybe 4 to 6 hours on the weekends?

A video course that uses the Wiley book (Yaeger) will cut your studying time in half and be more effective. The cheap route could prove very frustrating.

I agree with Jeff. Don't try to save money on this exam, it's expensive enough to take it the first time (and then to re-take it if you fail it) - spend some money on a good course like Yaeger. Free websites like cpareviewforfree are only supplements...it isn't great at teaching you the material. More power to you though, if you can do it on your own saving the $.

Also, I think it's feasible to take FAR and AUD in november. You've got three months, if you start now, you can at the very least take AUD and get it out of the way. But I'd much rather you take FAR, because once the IFRS stuff starts kicking in, FAR will be that much more annoying. But try to take care of both, if you can.

Since I have just the 2009 -2006 Becker books, and not Becker questions CD, I am using cpareviewforfree. I have been studying 2 weeks the most, and I had about 100 questions answered. Now, I wasn't able to read the entire book, but the questions and God, I love the explainations help me such a great deal. I find myself looking over the previous AUD Q from CPA exam, and if I read and focus, it is easier to get the right answer. I have no problem with, but of course, let's say out of 50 Q I have 5-7 wrong the first time (2009- CPA AUD). I am trying as much as possible to find the logical answer, not to jump on it just because I know the answer. The internal control and audit risk Q kill me...these are very hard though.

I wonder if I can make it without buying the new Becker set w/ questions as well. In weekend I am looking at ....at least 50-70 Q a day. Week days I am trying to read the ch in between breaks, and at night, 2 hrs questions or review. But I guess if I really follow my strategy...I may go through this.

I tried a month or 2 months ago to start study for CPA, but I gave up in a week. I decided to be passionate about CPA Exam. I want to make it a passion, to love it....otherwise I don't think it works with me. And another thing very important is YOU. When I see all your grades, efforts, improvements listed...69, 71, 75 etc, it makes me cry and don't wan to give up. And my job sucks horrible.

I will be taking FAR in Q1 2011. I was not an accounting major. Until the Yager review is available, I have been using the questions from CPAreviewforfree. So far, I've found that all of the answers to these questions are covered in my intermediate accounting book... which is pretty encouraging. But can the same be said about the actual exam, in terms of scope?

Becker is a GREAT way to go ! They are expensive but they are really great. I recommend the "online" study. I would rather watch the lectures when I want to and in my pajamas at home, not in a boring class room. CPAreviewforfree was good to use at work and for supplemental questions. I recommend focusing more on Becker questions, but CPA review for free was a good checker.. but don't be discouraged when you get something wrong.. read the explanation, learn from it and move on!
