CPE credits given my situation

I’m hoping someone can help me understand how CPE credits work given my situation. I live in PA, but was offered a job in the DC area. I passed my last section of the CPA in Nov 2015 and I’ll have 150 credits by August. However, I don’t have enough hours for the work requirement, I’m not currently working, and I have no idea when I’m going to be starting my job. I know that I have 5 years from passing my exam to apply for my license. Will I not have to worry about CPE credits until I officially have my license?

No, you shouldn't have a CPE requirement until you are licensed. I'm not sure what the DC board requirements are, but in NC it's pro-rated the first year based on when you get your license. In NC the CPE requirement is 40 hrs for the year, but if you didn't get your license until June, you only have to do something like 20 hours, including an annual 2 hr ethics course.

I am also not currently working and don't have my work hours, but I wanted to get the exam out of the way.

    AUD - 77
    REG - 73, 80
    FAR - 69, 73, 79 and DONE!
    BEC - 82
