    Hello All,

So between working 55 hours a week, the recent gorgeous weather and overall poor motivation I have been struggling to get through FAR. I do have a week of vacation and unassigned time at work for two weeks before my exam on Aug 7th. Has anyone crammed for FAR in about a 2 week time period, and if so what are some good tips or study habits to obtain a solid grasp on the material?

I've done it – it wasn't at all fun!! I was in the exact same boat as you (chose snowboarding over studying time and time again). NTS was about to expire, so I was forced into actually taking the exam with about two weeks of studying. In that two weeks I worked full time (was able to study at work, so that helped) and took the weekend off before my exam to – you guessed it – go snowboarding. I pulled a 72.

Second time around, I did the same thing for about 4 weeks (replace snowboarding with hiking). I got Jeff's NINJA notes, flashcards and test bank, crammed like hell and pulled a 78. Advisable? No. Doable? Yes. You just have to be willing to really sit down and focus, figure out where your weak areas are, and practice until you get it. Once you get it, move on. You're not going to have much time – if any – for a full comprehensive review. If you can move your exam, I would choose that route. Just don't keep moving it until you're back into cram mode. Make a plan and stick to it! I can promise you that taking the time to pass the exam is much more gratifying and less stressful than failing, knowing that your only excuse is that you slacked off. These things are not cheap!! 🙂
