It’s almost been a year and so far no success. Oh well, I’m planning on retaking REG on January 2, 2014 using the Ninja method with CPAexcel. Thoughts, comments, concerns?

Well so far I've only taken FAR and AUD and am passed far and waiting on AUD. Wiley test bank MCQ was a large help, did a couple thousand of those + taking and paying attention to MBA accounting classes as a review.

My advice is to focus on just 1 test at a time and knock it out of the park. Pass that first test, use that boost of motivation and knock them each out one-by-one. Good luck!

Hey, don't get down on yourself, only move forward. I'm only 1-4 and have taken each part that I've failed at least twice. I have spent over a year and a half studying trying to get somewhere and while I know that compared to some people that is nothing and that so many other people have had to deal with situations that are way worse then mine while studying and everything but that doesn't mean that it still doesn't hurt when you fail. All you can do is just learn from your failures and try and pick yourself back up and come back at it harder the second time around. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. I use Becker and not Wiley or CPA Ninja.

    FAR – 65, 68

AUD – 52, 58, (still waiting to hear back on #3)

    BEC – 79

    REG – 42, 61, 70

I went 0-6 before I got the first pass. Since then I've figured out what the scores really mean.

I still believe there should be a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting the AICPA from issuing a score between 70 and 75.

    1. A score of 69 or less says “We think you might still be a threat to the public.”

    2. A score of 70 says “You didn't learn what you really needed to learn to pass the exam, which is basically how to read our minds.”

    3. A score of 71 says “There is still money left in your savings account.”

    4. A score of 72 says “We see that your credit cards aren't over the limit yet.”

    5. A score of 73 says “At this point, we view you as nothing more than a revenue stream.”

    6. A score of 74 says “Here's a slap in the face for all of your hard work and dedication. See #2-5 for further details.”

    7. A score of 75 or above says “You are no longer a threat to the public, your bank accounts are empty, you now have the credit of a 9 year old, and the new wing on our building is complete. Congratulations!”

I went 0 for 11 before my first pass. I don't put that in my signature because it's too much negativity for me personally. (plus I didn't keep track of all my scores and parts, obviously I wasn't serious)

The point is, keep going. Pick the subject that you like the most and focus on taking it at the end of every testing window until you pass it. Give yourself 3 weeks of just reviewing MCQ's and simulations.

I had one of my best friends ask me, right after a failing audit score, “How long are you going to do this to yourself, I just want to know how many more times I have to be there for you?” She wasn't being rude, just truthful. My response, “Until I die” I plan to take the CPA exams until I pass or I die, it's that simple. I think that verbalizing that commitment put things into perspective for me.

Get angry, pick a section, buy yourself a spiral notebook, and write out the ninja notes to a section before you study it. Leave spots in your notebook to add more to it as you watch CPA Excel video's. Do 5-10 MCQ's on that part, and write down the re-occurring topics from the questions. Read 4-5 sections of your notebook everyday. It took me 3-4 weeks to get through AUD, BEC, and REG video's and study material in CPA Excel. Then spend 2-3 weeks slamming out MCQ's. I suggest Wiley test bank for this.

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass

I was 0 for 10 before I passed my first exam section which was BEC. I have already lost that section and re-passed BEC a second time. I am taking FAR on Nov 30 and if I don't pass I will lose AUD which took 8 attempts to pass (my last five AUD scores were 72, 71, 74, 74 and 84). My exam on Nov 30 will be my 28th sitting and I will either pass and be a cpa or I will lose audit and be half way there. You only fail if you give up and quit.

I used to have a signature of scores that took up six inches of forum space every time I posted. I took it off because while it may have been encouraging for others…I got tired of looking at all the fails. THEY DO NOT DEFINE ME!!! Are they going to define you? I think not, Ninja! Hit those books and bitch slap this exam! Oh yeah…and Jennifer's advice above sounds good too! =)

Kricket: OMG! Your #5 really hit home after getting a 73 on my last FAR attempt. I swear I think they have me pegged as a “rich lady” and are going to take me for everything I have!!! They are so wrong! I am going to pass on Nov 30 and cut them off like a bad step-son!

I agree with the comment that you should focus on one part until you pass it. Each time you start on a new section you lose a little bit of what you gained on the last section. It may get boring and monotonous, but I think you'll have a better chance of passing if you hit up on section at a time. Good luck!
