   I keep on reading about the results being curved ! ? ! ?

   That true ? does it effect FAR & AUD ?

   Does that mean that if i predict a Fail score it might turn into a Pass ?

   There's always that suspicion.

   Your point about fail/pass is valid. According to the pretest questions (thrown out) and question weighting, in theory you could get 80% correct and still fail...got the wrong ones right. On the other hand, you could get 70% correct and still pass because you answered the "right ones" correctly.

   I've always thought it comes down to the luck of the question mixed with increasing your odds by studying. Good luck!

   I think it has to do more with score weighting than a curve.

   Easy questions give you less point value, challenging questions would have a higher point value.

   The correct term isn't curving but your score is definitely not a simple % correct. Can anyone better versed in stats go into detail into how they assign scores.

   There's plenty of reading on the subject. Although, the basics are what I stated above, pretest questions are thrown out and questions are weighted differently. Therefore in theory, you could get 80% correct but still fail because of the weighted questions and those thrown out.

   At the end of the day no matter how the test is scored, you'll still study the same.

   This is how it goes....

   3 Medium MCQ Testlets= No curve (This is where people are like, "Oh I failed" and really do fail)
   2 Medium MCQ Testlets & 1 Difficult Testlet= Curve
   1 Medium Testlet & 2 Difficult Testlets= Big curve (This is where people are like, "Oh I failed" and end up with a good score)

   Based on my experience, that's pretty much how it goes. So, in order for a curve to take effect, you need to perform well in Testlet 1 or 2 in order to start getting difficult testlets.

   FAR: 52, 66, 73, 61, 89
   AUD: 47, 87
   BEC: 80
   REG: 64, 74, 84

   Wow, interesting take. Your proposing a curve when folks are faced with "harder" testlets. This offers an answer to those situations where folks have hard testlets and do not perform well. Because they are challenged on a "more difficult" level they are not penalized but compensated by higher point value questions and a curve.

   I am still convinced that they pull names out of a hat, then throw a dart at a dartboard to determine your score!

    I have no idea how they score these things. I'm just going to continue to study my butt off and hope I beat out 55% of the other candidates lol
