I was asked to tell me about your self, and I mentioned I worked with auditors and etc… Then I got asked by the firm X, (Big 4 firm) on the phone interview, that if my company was a client of firm X. I said yes, and then the recruiter kind of just said.. we technically don’t recruit from our clients. Are you serious? I mean, firm X (one of the Big 4 firms), have a ton of clients, world wide. If they don’t recruit from their clients, that would be ridiculous right?!?!
Also, other information to consider into context. Firm X is NOT doing external audit for us, they are internal audit, so more like consultants working for the company I’m with. And on top of this, I am not in any officer role, I’m just a small accounting clerk, so I don’t see any independence issue here right? I mean, as long as I don’t get assigned to audit my company.
One last thing to add, the company I’m at is public. Also, they are in the same city as the position I applied for, meaning, if I get job, I might be with this team in the same city, which are doing the internal audits for us.
With that said, do you think my interview just went downhill? It’s been about 3 days now, and no call back.
