Did you pass in the following window after postponing your exam?

This question is for those who believed that it was necessary to reschedule their exam to the following testing window. If so, did the results result in a successful passing exam score? Do you believe you would have passed in the original exam window if you had not rescheduled? I’m just curious about people’s reasoning and end results.

Me personally, I rescheduled FAR from the previous window and have rescheduled to take it early in the fourth quarter. I felt under-prepared to take FAR in August so I rescheduled. I rescheduled even though I was coming off a three week review process. My third week was interrupted by various real world events. I’m believing the additional month of misery will result in not having to restudy & retake.

Well, I would have just taken it in the 3rd window and if I failed, schedule it for early October. It doesn't hurt to give it a shot even if you feel a bit unprepared.

As for the quesion, I have never rescheduledy exam so I wouldn't know.

I took Audit at the beginning of August, and although I studied, I felt completely unprepared. I am using Becker, I did the homework, took the practice exams (scored low 70's) and read and re-read the book. I felt like I was shooting for a 75 at best. Turns out, I did really well (97). Either I eliminated the questions correctly and chose the best out of the two I worked it down to, or I just got really lucky.

That being said, I felt totally defeated walking out of the exam, and knew I had failed. But, I gave it a shot, and it all worked out.

Prior to this exam, I had always wondered “how can people walk out of an exam and feel like they failed, but they did so well.” I get it now. Seriously, I get it. Thought I had failed this thing, convinced myself that I was going to re-study the material and approach learning it in a different way, and then BAM! Awesome score.

If you can go into an exam going “ok, I know I studied, I know I put forth my best effort, and I know that I studied diligently” I'd say go for it!

I rescheduled AUD twice in six months and passed. No way I would have passed had I not rescheduled – mostly because I wasn't studying.

That said, I then rescheduled FAR twice in six months and failed. A week and a half of studying is not quite enough for that test! Scheduled a retake a few months later and passed.

Bottom line, if you're on a budget crunch and don't want to/can't pay for a retake, I'd always recommend rescheduling, even if you have to eat the $35 fee (in my state at least). Then get to studying, no excuses!! If budget isn't an issue, it never hurts to just take the test and see what happens. If nothing else, you get a feel for how the test is structured and what types of questions are asked. Good luck on FAR!

I originally scheduled REG for the beginning of May. I had just finished going through my material once. I panicked because it was my first test and postponed until the end of May. Between that time I went on vacation and bought another property. Didn't open my book once. Ended up getting a 73. I wish I hadn't postponed because I think I would have had a chance at passing while the material was still fresh.
