Ditch Wiley CPAExcel altogether and only do 10 pt combo for AUD?

I bought Wiley Platinum before I found this website.

I bought the 10 pt combo for FAR and, although I haven’t gotten my score yet, I feel I was very prepared for FAR. If any of you are familiar with Wiley, it breaks it down into small bite sized lectures.

Now onto AUD with the 10 pt combo.

Am I wasting time by going through each section in Wiley? Should I just read the Ninja book and do the MCQs (along with flashcards and ninja notes) and not use Wiley?

In the end, I always do a TON of Ninja MCQ anyways and don’t even go back to Wiley. I’m afraid to go away from the norm (Wiley) and feel discouraged that I spent so much on Wiley but wouldn’t use it. But Ninja’s book is so much easier to read!

Has anyone had this problem (even with another program)??

Hello there! Glad to see another Wiley user on this site since everyone seems to use Gleim or Becker. I know that you've already taken AUD but I can say that I used Wiley exclusively for AUD in May. I went through the whole program, watched all the videos, took notes, did a lot (but not nearly enough) MCQs and felt prepared enough walking in. When I took the exam, I was so frustrated about halfway through because I realized that I was not prepared and felt like Wiley didn't do enough for me. I just knew walking out that I didn't pass and was not surprised with a low score. I took it again on 7/12 but honestly have no idea how I did.

I found NINJA the night before I took AUD. I recently purchased the 10 point combo (complete since I have a feeling I will be taking AUD a third time) and I am loving the setup. Like you, I find the NINJA book so much easier to read. I feel like I am taking a ton more notes and I am just retaining the information better. I am doing better on the MCQs and keep listening to the audio while I am in the car. I tend to stick with the material I have already covered there, just to reinforce it so I won't forget. I am gradually spending more time reading the notes. I am doing it in the order of Wiley and go back when I feel like I have completed one of the modules and answer the MCQ provided for the section. Overall, I am currently happy with NINJA and like you, feel like I wasted a ton of money on the Wiley product. I keep trying to use it, but I am basically just going back to review what I learned in the NINJA book at this point. I am happy that I found this product fairly early on in my testing as I am now studying for REG, which is only my second section.

Good luck on your next exam, and hopefully you will have a better score for AUD than I probably got! 🙂

Hi guys, I'm in the same boat. I have Wiley Platinum too and Audit is SOOOOO boring I couldn't retain any information let alone focus. So I bought Audit 10pt combo. It helped me to focus better bc the books are an easier read, but I think all you really need is the Ninja MCQ for Audit since it has good Qs, but the SIMs I'm not too wild about. I think Wiley's is better. I haven't passed Audit yet but I think that combo is enough to pass. I'm spending my time focusing on SIMs for my retake – I know they are the reason why I didn't pass!

    AUD 62, 70, 78
    REG 67, 66, 65, 66, 64

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8

I keep seeing people on here talk about how they used only MCQs to pass the exam, but I don't know that I could do that. I feel like I need more information to be confident walking in to take it. I am going to try taking less notes and more questions to try and maybe speed up the process. I feel like I'm not moving fast enough to be able to cover the material before my REG exam.
