Do CPA Test Results Stay on Record Forever?

I’ve been searching for a while and couldn’t find any information, but here’s my question: I graduated school and finished up the 150 credit requirement last summer and recently passed the FAR section of the exam on the first try. I’d like to keep going, but have recently stumbled into some different opportunities outside of accounting. If I end up passing all four sections, but not entering public accounting, do the tests stay on record? I know I wouldn’t technically be a CPA because I wouldn’t have the two years experience, but can they go back and cancel my test results at some point if I don’t pursue public? Do I need to do CPE? So many questions! Any help would be much appreciated.

in CA once all 4 tests passed, they do not expire. Only licensed CPA's need CPE…..

edit: I'd like to add when you do apply for licensing you would have to be up to date with the state's licensing requirements.

CA CPA - All because of the journey listed below
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    FAR - 53('10), 8/25/12 79 PASSED!
    REG - 66('11), 69('12), 12/06/12 77 PASSED!!
    BEC - 58('10), 74('12), 01/05/13 77 PASSED!!!
    AUD - 43('11), 66('12), 69('13), 74('13) 7/29/13 85 PASSED!!!!!

Thanks! So you're saying by those rules, I could come back in ten years, work a while in public, and receive the designation then? That would be ideal if that's the case. I'm from Ohio. Do you know where I can find odd state rules like this?

In CO, the exam doesn't expire. As long as you passed all 4 in the 18 month window, you'll have it forever.

However, the state can change the education requirement. If so, you won't have to retake the exams, but you may have to go back to school to meet the new requirement.

    FAR - 79 - 07/2012
    AUD - 65, 78 - 11/2012
    BEC - 76 - 11/2012
    REG - 78 - 01/2013
    ETH - 98 - 01/2013

For international candidates, they said maybe the results might expire after 3 years however the Montana board said its not the case, the results dont expire. Can anybody confirm this?

I'm from ohio, so far I have not read anywhere anything about the test scores expiring. I sure hope they do not expire, I probably will not be able to get the work experience anytime soon either after passing all 4 sections.
