Do I look or not look?

I am in my last window before I lose REG. I took FAR for the 2nd time (first time 70) on Jan 12 and I am scheduled to take BEC Feb 16 (for the 5th time). Should I look at my FAR grade before my BEC exam?

The implication that you are even capable of not looking is scary as hell to me. Are you an android that shoots lasers out of your eyes?

I'm taking AUD on the 4th and I don't even know if I'll be able to keep from looking at my FAR score before my exam!

@mypetmeatball Great post. Totally agree. How could you live knowing your score was one click away but not check?? I check even when I know it isn't up.

Either way pass or fail it will definitely mess with my head I think. It will be interesting to see if I can do it. I used to check the score constatntly now I dont think I want to know! Just the thought of starting again makes me crazy!

Same… scores were originally scheduled for release on Feb 5. That is my AUD exam. Now, it looks like it'll be Friday or Monday. Still sucks but at least it's not exam day cus my appt isn't til 1230 so I'd definitely know beforehand.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83

Ugh samdiegoCPA that really sucks! At least I have 10 days or more to get over it. I definitely wouldn't look if it was that close!

I'm considering not looking at my AUD score on the 5th as well.

I have an NTS that expires 7/9 and have already scheduled FAR, REG, and BEC.

Nothing will change those test dates, so why look? I don't want to see yet another fail.

BUT…. what if I pass? What if I get my first passing score???? Do I really want to let fear cause me to postpone that feeling of accomplishment after a year of dedication?

    Nope.

I will check it at 8 a.m. on the 5th. (California)

Unless of course the score release thread has like 19 pages on Friday, which would indicate an earlier release date.

Then I'll be up, bright and early Sat. Hoping to celebrate.

I'd check with the amount of time you have i between. If they were closer I probably wouldn't.

Wow, if you are able to resist checking you have far more willpower than I. I am taking Audit a week after my FAR score is released. I want to know my score the second it is posted. It's a gamble- no doubt I would be pretty upset if I didn't pass, and it might throw off my AUD studying for a day or two. But, I feel like not knowing my score will take a greater toll- especially if I knew it was there. And, I feel I just have to trust that my FAR preparation got me that passing score- because a 75+ will definitely be the last piece of motivation I need to finish my studying strong.

Then again, you only have one day in between. If it were me I'd check it, but you'll do what works best for you. Perhaps try to imagine the Score Release Thread blowing up in a few days- are you ok not knowing? What would distract you more during BEC- knowing you failed (knocking on wood of course- I hope you knocked it out of the park) the first test, or the anticipation of finding out your previous score when you are done? I'd probably be distracted more by waiting to receive the score.
