I’m confused with the certification process…

    1. Do I need to meet the working experience before my score get expired? I noticed on the score report that the scores will get expired in about one and a half year. But I’m not sure whether I can fulfill the experience requirement in this period. So I’m concerned about this problem.

    2. Is anyone applying for the Ohio Certificate? the residence requirement need a notarized copy of the lease. How can I get my lease notarized? Is a signature by the agency enough? The requirement is that I need to be a OH residence when passing one or more sections. I have already passed some and during this period I’m on a lease in OH. But I might move to other states to work in the future. What should I do to get the lease notarized and prove that I’m residence here when passing those sections?

Thank you guys, please help me out. 🙁

Not sure about OH but usually once all 4 exam parts have been passed they never expire (the expiration date refers only to the 18 month window to pass all 4). There are a few exceptions so you should check with your board.

Regarding having a document notarized, most banks have a notary on site and if you are a customer of that bank they will not charge you to notarize a document.

No you don't, but the question is do you need your one year experience before 2017 with the CPA requirements change for some states?

@CPAHOPEFULL11 Sorry I don't know the answer for your question. But I don't think we have to meet the requirement before then. And by then there might be things like “if you get the experience before XX date” vs “if you get the exam after XX date” just like the educational requirements in most states now.
