You can't bring anything into the test room not even water. Do keep in mind if you go out between testlets the time to check out, get your drink, and check back in is part of your allowed time so you're giving away those moments that you could be answering questions.

No. You can't take anything in with you. Be careful taking more than one break because your time keeps ticking and if the test center is busy it could take them a while to check you back in since you have to go through the pictures and fingerprints and wanding to go back into the exam. Also, going to your locker is allowed, but if they see you look at a phone or a piece of paper they could report you for the possibility of cheating. That happened to someone on here this year so just an FYI for you.

My Prometric has a nice water cooler with paper cups, so getting a drink of water on a scheduled break isn't an issue. Checkout and checkin time has never been a problem there. Can you swing by the center and see if they have a cooler and how busy they tend to be? They also have a Test Drive program so you can practice how the whole process works. It costs $30, but it seems well worth it for people with anxieties about the unexpected.

It's 4 hours. Man up. Drink water before hand. If you leave during the exam for a sip of water, you'll regret those 2 minutes you could have had when your time is up. 4 hours will go by like 20 minutes. Trust me.

Gatorbates – agreed. You don't want water in there anyway bc then you will drink and then youll need to take breaks. I try and prevent taking ANY breaks but if I ABSOLUTELY need to I do it in between the MCQs and the SIMS – that's also when I pray for easy sims!

As already mentioned, our Prometric center allowed no access to your locker during a break. You are allowed a break, but the check out/check in process could take as much as 10-15 minutes depending on how many Prometric staff are working and testing load.

It's only 4 hours. The only time I ever took a break was because I couldn't hold it any longer and HAD to go to the bathroom. Other than that one time, I never left the room.

Come on… I took a part of the exam 8 months pregnant and managed to make it through the whole thing without a break. Trust me, you will be kicking yourself if you run out of time in the end due to taking a break, if not absolutely necessary.

I usually take a 2-3 minute break between the multiple choice and SIMS. I need to stretch my legs and gear up mentally for the SIMS.

I was nervous about that too. I drink a lot of water, so going 4 hours without a sip is a lot.

I took a very quick break between MCQ's and SIMS. Just drink a small amount, so that you don't have to go to the bathroom 20 minutes later.

A very quick bathroom break and sip of water can help you to regroup and focus better.

Overall, I agree with everyone who is very cautious about taking a break. Definitely don't take one unless you really need it. But, you can literally go out and come back in within 3 minutes, so it won't kill your exam.

Don't drink much the morning of your exam. Take a drink right before you go in. I always take a break in between my last MCQ testlet and the simulations to use the bathroom, drink from the water fountain, stretch a little, and gather my thoughts. I can usually do this in 5 minutes. Don't even stress about it.

Honestly, the time goes so fast that you don't even notice you aren't drinking/eating. Trust me, when you look up and see 10 mins left with 2 sims left to go you'll know what I mean
