Would love some support and encouragement….

I have BEC in one week and I don’t feel comfortable with the material, yet I can’t seem to concentrate when working the practice problems.

    My mind wanders big time.

    What’s my problem?!?!?!?

I really need to buckle down and need to learn the material well.

I think it’s because the material is so varied that jumping from one topic to another makes me scatter-brained. I feel overwhelmed with all of it.

But, working on one topic for too long doesn’t work either.

    Help me gain focus!

I pray and pray. I reach out to other friends who are also studying, but my brain is not cooperating.

    Thanks for your support.

If it makes you feel better, I'm right there with you. I have BEC scheduled for 8/29. I feel no where near as prepared at one week out as I did for REG. At this point I'm doing practice tests, and reviewing the material for questions I missed.

Hello, I have BEC next week as well. I for one do not like taking practice tests. I tried with audit and FAR and it did nothing but freak me out, but everyone is different. I do recommend printing out questions if you are really having a hard time focusing. I do this sometimes, and read them through carefully, highlight, make notes etc. I then go through all of the explanations at the bottom for becker. I hope this helps!

    AUD - 73,91
    FAR - 79 - Thank you God!
    BEC - 73,79!!!!
    REG - 92 whatttt??!

I used Becker review + flashcards, Ninja Audio, Ninja MCQ supplement on BEC and REG.

    Done! Praise God!

Increase your sleep. Take 30 mins naps during the day. DVR all tv programs to watch later. your entertainment should only be watching this forum and talking about BEC and its questions. Start posting questions in the Study group in this forum.

Think about how miserable you will be when you will fail. What will you tell your parents/ your GF/ wife/kids. Just eat, sleep and study, I walk 2 hrs a day in 40 mins chunks and listen to audios or just talk to some friends.

I just passed BEC so I know what your feeling. Try taking one chapter in Becker to review at a time. This way you can focus on mastering that material. I did 3 progress tests on each chapter then I did 1&2, 3&4, 5&6. I did 3 each of those combos. Then I did a set of 3 with all of the chapters. I wrote down my scores as I we to I could see where I was struggling.

In each practice test I did 24 questions and then went back and made sure I understood why I got it wrong and that I could get the right answer. I also made sure the ones I got right weren't just the result of a lucky guess. I also did 20 question sets in Ninja getting those as many of the questions as I could. I used the custom MCQ option and selected new questions so I could see as many as possible and always made sure I understood why the answer was what it was. If you need to take a brain break between every 2/3 sets, then do so. A 15 minute break will get you ready for the next set.

Also try to do at least one WC from each chapter. Some of the rest I read the questions thought thru the answer I would give and the go read Becker's answer but didn't actually write it out.

I also recommend doing both final exams in Becker in as close to exam conditions as possible. Just a warning the second one wax brutal – had that been my exam I would have fail. Just make sure you review the exams so you why an answer was wrong. Remember Becker is usually harder than the exam (Ninja too).

    Good Luck!

    Thanks, guys –

I'll keep plugging away at the material.

I try to switch between Becker and Wiley for variety in questions, but honestly, many of the questions seem so different between the two programs that it's almost like they're not actually for the same exam.

    Really weird!

It really makes me feel even more unprepared. But, I'm trying to learn as much as possible from each.
