Hi, I’m pretty far in this process and so far I have always gone through the Becker material and then done some Wiley questions. Seems to work ok if I spend enough hours but does anyone have any thoughts on good strategies or other materials to use?

My thoughts on the ones I have used. I don’t really have anything to say about Becker but I have found mistakes in the wiley test bank and if you really spend a lot of time on it, I’ve noticed it doesn’t do a good job of randomly giving you a good selections from each topic. For example, there is a practice exam and the bottom three objective questions never come up. So it’s nice to have the extra questions, I just have that comment about some bugs there. (I always think it’s easier than becker and I don’t know if that’s a good thing.

Also, has anyone every done the 1 day live Final review for becker? I have passed 3 out of 4 sections and FAR is my last. i’m running out of time to lose credit and have never done a live day and i’m just brainstorming what else I can do to help me pass. I would have to drive about 4 hours to get to the review and it would be in april and my exam is not til end of may. thoughts? thanks you and good luck with your studies. I am having major problems concentrating. any advice on that as well ?? 🙂

3 out of 4 passed and sitting for FAR on May 31. Will lose credit for Audit if I don't pass FAR by Aug 4. I love leases and bonds.

If you have FAR at the end of May then you have plenty of time to study and pass. I didn't use Becker but I found the Ninja materials to be extremely helpful for FAR. I purchased the Ninja MCQ test bank, notes, and audio. Repetitiveness is key for FAR. The more you can see it or hear it, the better you'll retain the information. I would write out the entire pdf of the notes once a week then typed them 3 times a week 2 weeks prior to my exam. I would listen to the audio any time I was in my car, working out, or doing yard work. I did every single MCQ in the Ninja bank at least twice with all the sims once. It was a grueling 10 weeks (approx 200 hours) but it did the trick. Don't be afraid to over study for FAR.

As far as concentration, I would break up my studies into segments since I had bad concentration issues also. I would focus and study for 45 min to an hour, then break for 10-15 min to do something else and then repeat.

I don't know if a one day live review will help but, If you decide to go, you should at least get the ninja audio and listen on the drive to and back since it's a 4 hour drive.

    Hope this helps!

For me Ninja Audio is extremely helpful because i am stuck in traffic for 2-3 hours a day and i listen to it over and over. Jeff uses great examples and is interesting to listen to.

Doing many MCQ questions helps alot too because it makes my brain work and think about the subject. If i get the answer wrong it ususally irritates me so i make sure that i understand why i got it wrong before moving on .This causes me to remember the topic better.

Hi thanks to both of you for your comments. I actually purchased the NINJA program before even reading your comments. I just want to be extra prepared for FAR since it's the hardest and longest and MY LAST TEST. REG and BEC I had to take more than once so I'm scared of FAR and scared of losing credit.

How do you view the Ninja notes? I just got the program and I am super confused. Somehow I downloaded the audio this morning but I don't even know how. Now I logged on and I see two different screens. The one with the dashboard and MCQ an SIMs and one with the MCQ and Blitz. ***help**** Where are the notes that people always talk about copying???

Oh and have you found it is really valuable to copy notes? I have just been listening to the audio around the house and I definitely think that is a good addition. do you guys know how to get it to your car or phone?

I think i'm already border line deciding against the one day review course (although would still like to get people's comments if they have done it. (becker). It's 4 hours each way so I think that 8 hours will deter me, plus once you have gotten some kind of grasp on the material (lectures and going thru it once), I really think the most valuable thing is working problems and I can't imagine this one day review course works problems, or if they do I don't do well with working problems in a group setting. still tempting to do something extra or different this time around.

also I have to decide if im actually going to enroll in the becker live course. i'ts pretty useless since I already have the material and the lectures are exactly the same. there is no value added in going to the courses…well except the fact you are forced to knock out 4-8 hours at a time whereas at home that might take me a couple of days. I just can't decide. it's just stress. ahhhhh I hate CPA hah

anyone else tips on concentrating or maintaining a 25 or less hour weekly schedule of study on top of working full time and perhaps overtime. I did so well focusing on REG and I got my passing score, only have FAR left and my brain is not wanting to focus. I think it might be a mental thing for me. scared of it. 🙁 🙁 🙁

3 out of 4 passed and sitting for FAR on May 31. Will lose credit for Audit if I don't pass FAR by Aug 4. I love leases and bonds.
