Can anyone with direct knowledge give some insight on EY’s defined benefit plan? I’m pretty sure they are the only one of the Big 4 to offer it.

    AUD: 87 (10/1/14)
    FAR: 82 (11/24/14)
    BEC: 79 (1/5/15)
    REG: 88 (4/09/15), 66 (2/24/15)

Thought all the Big4 have pension plans; at the old green dot you become vested in the plan after three years. I'm not sure what the eventual payout will be, but seeing how anything I receive will be in thirty years or so, and during that time I'll have zero control over the plan or its assets, its not something I'm factoring into retirement.

Also, I believe the partner pension and employee pension are separate plans (that is, each has their own pool of assets, etc).

I agree with acamp…pretty sure all Big 4 have it, they just might have different names. I know that the House of Klynveld has a three-year vesting period (all or nothing…no graduated vesting) and provides us with annual statements. Our pension year runs separately from our fiscal year, so even though I'm 2.5 years in, for pension purposes I hit the requisite number of hours in my first pension half-year to get a full year's credit. So, as of 4/30 I'm fully vested. While I don't have control of the assets, like acamp mentioned, I thought it was pretty cool that I had about $9k after 2 pension years. Definitely more of a contribution they made to matching my 401k!

I have a PwC roommate, and I'm not sure of the details of theirs, but pretty sure it's called “Wealth Builder?”

As Livijill confirmed, KPMG has a defined benefit plan. I'm starting there this fall and will have better knowledge then. I wasn't clear how it worked from reading the literature that was given to me when I signed my acceptance.
