AUD is a tricky one. You should understand the logic of problems and read them carefully. Though I only spent 20 days on passing it, the score doesn't reach my expectation.Only 79 instead of 97!

you have to keep at it. i have my 5th try this weekend. Everyone says to use the authoritative literature for the simulations. Do you have any of the ninja materials? Hopefully in 2 weeks i'll be able to tell you what worked to pass on my 5th try

you are not alone. there's a reason the forum is called Another 71.

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

It took me 5 tries to pass audit. I worked every becker question, every wiley book question, every wiley test bank question, all multiple times. I even did cpa review for free questions and sims. I made sure I understood the theory behind everything and read every explanation to the answers for both right and wrong answers. In all my attempts I used Becker, Yaeger and Roger plus I used Ninja notes and wiley test bank, and the last time I also used the audio and I rewrote my ninja notes. My scores were 50, 58, 70, 72 and finally an 89.

I made sure to use the authoritative literature to help me on the sims. Don't give up. You will get this.

Use Yaeger and Gleim MCs together! Do all MCs and understand each problem! Then you will Ace it!

My results from my AUD exam post tomorrow! I am a nervous wreck! This is my third time taking it…and it seems that my nerves get worse each time I take it. I definitely felt WAY more prepared this time around though and studied very hard. I hope it pays off!

Definitely use the authoritative literature on the simulations. It helped me immensely.

    AUD - 5/22/13: 95
    FAR - 8/24/13: 78
    REG - 12/6/13: 82
    BEC - 1/10/14:

Use the authoritative literature for audit!!!!!!!! I can't emphasize that enough. For REG, I found the authoritative literature to be of ZERO help whatsoever (except for, of course, with the research question). For AUD, I was able to verify my answers to almost 100% of the sims using the literature. I actually felt more confident with the sims than I did with my multiple choice questions. I don't know if I just got lucky or what, but knowing how to use the literature effectively REALLY helped me out on AUD. I'm a slow test taker, and I had plenty of time for the sims. My advice is to use every ounce of time that you have to check over your sim work! Good luck! You CAN do this!

    REG 83 - 2/10/2013
    AUD 96 - 4/2/2013
    FAR 87 - 5/30/2013
    BEC TBD

I'm not a smart guy and I am terrible at tests, so if I cant get a 97 on AUD- you definitely can. This is what you need to do…it's fail proof, I promise. Some people go overboard on what you “MUST” do and some underestimate it…This is the perfect combination to ENSURE you will pass….

    1) Realize you need to sacrifice most of your social life. Don't go out on weekends, study. Sorry if that messes with your style, but if you can't handle it then maybe you should not consider getting a CPA. Let you boss know you are taking the CPA- mine could care less if I was taking the CPA…he still makes me work 80+ hours a week…some might be sympathetic.

    2) Get/buy Becker. Read the chapters, front to back. Watch the lectures after each chapter. Pay attention; don't watch some and go off and make dinner. Allocate 3-4 hours JUST to watch lectures.

    3) Do ALL the M/C questions even if you know the answer. Explain to yourself in your head why that's the right answer. Don't just mindlessly pick an answer.

    4) If you get a question wrong, write the main point out

    5) Take notes on every chapter. Each chapter I took about about 30 pages of notes on regular 8×11 paper. I also have the Becker note cards. While I think what NINJA puts out is good, reading and taking your own notes is 10x better. Sorry Jeff, just my opinion.

    6) Review the notes every morning or night…note cards on weekends

    7) When Becker gets easy, buy the Wiley Test bank and do questions from there

    8) Do 100 to 150 MC a day…mainly Wiley but some of Becker…and if you do Wiley make sure the setting that makes certain to only give you new questions is on (so you don't get repeat questions you already know answers to)

    9) Focus M/C questions on weak areas using Wiley. Do Simulations as well and get yourself VERY familiar with the AL using Wiley.

    10) I bought Ninja audio and listened to that at night…

    11) On test day, when you are doing simulations, look up the key words in the simulation using the AL…even if you think you know it (assuming you have time). I found answers to the SIMs word for word in the AL and it took me less than 5 minutes to do a few SIMs I know I'd get full credit for

Do all of these and you will pass. I promise you.

    AUD- 97 1x
    REG- 81 1x
    BEC- 79 1x
    FAR- 88 1x

    DONE!

    10/1/12 to 2/28/14

Audit is tough because most people do well in it (most people getting CPAs are auditors). What I mean is you will have to get a higher % of the questions right compared to the other exams. From your scores, it looks like you just weren't well-prepared for the exams.

I think the #1 thing to do is organize the material in your head (like an outline).

2nd, don't just memorize the mnemonics, understand them.

TBH, I memorized only a couple mnemonics, and I was able to pass with a pretty decent score.

Take notes on every single Wiley mcq…don't just answer. Review those once or twice in addition to reviewing course/book notes. You'll pass…and not just aud.

    FAR Aug 12 84
    Aud Feb 13 99
    BEC Apr 13 86
