Failed AUD

I found out this morning that I failed AUD miserably…

Checked advisory score over and over again hoping to see a different score….Hoping NASBA punched wrong number…

    I really don’t understand what I did wrong…

I studied with CPAexcel, listened/watched all the video lectures, worked on all the MCQs, revisiting all the incorrect answers over and over again.

What I’m I missing here? What should I do now? I long do I have to study before the retake?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    So depressed…I can’t think straight…

Been there, done that. Not much you can do really. I would reread all of your material, word for word. Then get back into the MCQs (Ninja is great) doing sets of 30. Throw in some Sims so you get comfortable with seeing how they may ask a question.

I failed with a 73. In the back of my mind I knew I didn't prepare as well as other exams so I'm glad the score was at least NOT terrible. I'm going to go through the material from scratch again and buy Ninja MCQ.

    BEC - 78 (August 2015)
    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)

@debitcash Thank you for your advise…How long to you think is needed before retake? Did Ninja Notes help? I have a very old Ninja AUD note from 2012 which probably won't contain the accurate info…

    @wonny,

Ninja notes did in fact help (but you wouldn't be able to tell from my score). I did stronger on the MCQ and got massacred with the Sims, both times (69,63).

I would also familiarize yourself with the authoritative literature. Very important in increasing your chances of passing the Sims.

In regards to how long, I will give you my strategy and you improvise from there.

I gave (and am giving again) myself four weeks for review. One week to read through the chapters (no lectures). Then three weeks for nonstop MCQ hammering with Sims sprinkled in. Maybe 1-3 Sims a day.

    NINJA MCQ's will help.

This was probably overkill but I attempted 3946 Q's just in Ninja alone. I also was doing Becker ones as well.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

Omg i have been there too. i have been trying to pass AUD since July 2014. I finally did. I started with CPAexcel, and I liked it, but there are some big holes in the teaching. I switched to Ninja this past time, and finally passed. I did the MCQ and the audio (I have a long commute). You can do this!

    Aud - 60,70,72,69,80 (2/19/16)

I cannot speak to the AUD exam, But I can tell you I failed REG back in November with a 72. I received my score Dec 10, I rescheduled for Jan 5. Used only Ninja MCQ. Brought my score from a 72 to an 80 in 3 weeks.

Ninja MCQs will get you there. Retake ASAP, don't lose all that knowledge you have right now.

    Thank you all!!

@EuroAddict, terpgirl, DTBird How is Ninja MCQs different from others (Becker, CPAexcel…)? Also did you use the Ninja notes as well? What was your main studying material other than Ninja MCQs?

Yes Ninja MCQs are a life saver. Also, make sure to read the incorrect answers, and figure out why they are incorrect. Don't focus just on the correct answers.

    FAR 76 (8/1/2015)
    AUD 83 (10/17/2015)
    REG 85 (1/9/2016)

I found out I failed as well, and to be fair I think the sims were my downfall. I am being required by my boss to pass AUD & FAR by July to maintain my job. I just started studying for FAR this week and I'm going to go back and retake AUD after I take FAR. Any suggestions on a good study schedule or tips for AUD and FAR? I'm using Becker to study.

AUD - 2/27/16 Failed, Retake May?
    FAR - 4/20/16 ?

I also failed. I got a 66. I am scheduled to take FAR on May 27. I will retake AUD on July 1. That gives me a month to study.

It's weird. I woke up at 5:30, checked my score, saw that I failed. Pondered it for a minute and went back to sleep. I'm kinda numb. The longer the day goes on the sadder/more disapopinted I get. For crying out loud, I was on the bench so I was able to study practically non-stop for a few weeks. Now I'm on a project and have to try to pass FAR!?!?!?!?! *sigh*

SIMS were my weak point. I will concentrate more on them for FAR and from here on out.

@TheHoundThatRides I am currently part-time just out of school. If I want to be full time and stay with the company that's the requirement. So it's pass FAR and AUD or be unemployed…

@TheHoundThatRides- I am in the boat. I failed with a 73. So depressing! But deep down, I know I should have done more.

Time to reread everything, take more notes and do MCQs. I will pass this section in April!!

    FAR- 82 (11/30/15)
    AUD- 73, Retake April 2016
    BEC- May 2016
    REG- July or August 2016

    BEC - 76
    FAR - 82
    REG - 79
These exams make me want to switch professions! 😊
