I just took my first CPA exam and failed. I did everything Becker says to do – was scoring high 80’s on the MCQ. Now need to take it again. What do people recommend I do for the next month? Is Becker Final Review worth it or is something else more beneficial?

I have no problem sitting for several hours studying. I did Becker Self study and I got through it fine. I did the highlighting and underlining and every MCQ and SIM. What else?

My first crack at Audit, I watched all the Becker vids, highlighted and did the MCQs just like they say. I came out with a 65. Second go round i ditched the videos and just read the book, made my own notes and did MCQs. For some of us the videos are a waste of time. I'd suggest revising your technique before shelling out more cash. Only thing I would suggest buying would be the Wiley test bank, that way you have different questions do look at.

I failed AUD first time i took it and just passed in feb. i added WTB (to get questions i had not seen yet) and ninja audio. listened to ninja audio all the way through prolly about 20 times (listened to and from work) and pounded the WTB m/c questions. I would make sure that when you are going through the Qs understand the right and wrong answers and make sure you are scoring 80s on Qs you havnt seen yet (found that when i took test that were mixed with one i had seen before my score was about 10 points higher than if it was ones i had never seen before).

stick with it, AUD is a bi@ch

    AUD - 75
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 78
    REG - 82
    AUD: 61-67-75 (Thanks ninja aud)
    BEC: 77
    FAR: 78
    REG:69-73-70-82

    Aud-75 3x I knew i never liked you
Bec-77 1x being in the bubble is stressful
Reg-82 4x its not me its you...and no we cant be friends
    Far-78 1x easiest section

Thanks to both of you. Thats the problem with Becker. I find that I keep getting questions I have seen before which I think is skewing my score.

@jnathanson-I just found out I failed Audit too. I used WTB, studied nearly 100 hours and did thousands of multiple choice. I think my drawback is that I did not use the AL in the sims like I should have. One question messed me up and I was toast after that.

    FAR 82
    REG 76
    BEC 71, 78 (There is a light!!!)
    AUD 69, 83 (DONE!!!!)
