So, I checked my score this morning and got a whopping 63. This was extremely frustrating because I felt I did well enough to pass the test. The testlets went from medium to hard to hard, but the simulations were tricky. They were really specific and I had difficulty in completing some of them, I never felt 100% besides the research question. I’m currently using Becker self-study and was doing well on the tests on there, but the simulations were out of the ballpark. The Becker book was very black and white on the simulation concepts, but the questions on the exam itself were way more specific and complex and required a lot of critical thinking (very gray in nature). However, in the end I felt okay about it and was hoping for the best.

My score report said in MC I did stronger in 2 areas, weaker in 1, and comparative for the rest and overall the MC’s were stronger. The simulations, to no surprise, were weaker. Considering the math (60% MC and 40% sims) and performing stronger in MC’s and weaker in sims, I find it hard to believe I scored a 63. If anything, I would expect comparative overall for a score around the 70’s, but 63? I don’t understand how I failed so badly considering I felt well-prepared and scored so well on the MC. I really think I just got a case of bad luck and got a testlet with extremely difficult simulations…

How should I bounce back from this? I was hoping to schedule a re-take ASAP since I know I’m familiar with the material and just hope to get an easier sims testlate. How do I go about re-studying this? When I failed FAR, I knew it was because I didn’t know the material as well as I’d hoped so that was easy to study for again, but this time it’s the opposite and I’m a little confused.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!
