Failed BEC, and probably should have postpone it as I admit I didn’t prepare enough. As a first exam taker, I have no idea how to proceed to take it again. Do I apply again to the Board of my state, or go directly to NASBA to pay for a new NTS?

    Please help!

Congrats to all who passed, well deserve as these exams are killers!

You have to go through the whole process again. Apply to sit for the exam, get your approval letter, pay test fee, receive NTS, schedule exam.

I am not sure if every state is same. But in VA if you fail you just go on VBOA website and login in to your account, pay some fee to get NTS. You get new NTS and pay for exam fee. You do not have to go through the whole process again. Check your state board website.

You will have to go through the process again.

As far as the exam goes; I postponed my first section twice (BEC), and it ended up paying off. You know yourself more than anyone else, so if you don't feel ready IMO it's better to pay fee than to re-apply.

Thank you all for your responses. I checked with California Board and they told me I have to pay the application with renewal fee and they'll forward info to NASBA for them to send me an NTS and pay for the exam again. @Aspiring24 You're totally right! I'll keep that in mind and will follow my instinct next time.
