First time I took FAR, I got a 71. Second time I took it I got a 67! I am using Becker to study and I am not sure what else to do at this point. I thought I would do good the second time around, however I did worst than my first try. I am planning to try it a 3rd time on 10/1, and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions or tips on what I should do.
My study plan consisted of knocking out as much problems as I can and reviewing my notes on a daily basis. I would wake up every morning at 3 to get some problems done and after work, I would knock out some more before bed. I believe my failure on the second exam is highly due to the simulations. I was completely confused when I saw it and died inside! Sigh. Please help! This FAR hurdle is driving me crazy!

I think what saved me on SIMs was that I created two cheat sheets: one with every single J/E I came across in the Becker book and one with every single formula I came across. I didn't study any of the Becker SIMs and when I got to the fourth testlet, I felt pretty confident about all of them, as they tend to rely heavily on J/Es! Once you create the cheat sheets, go back maybe once a week or every other week and rewrite all of it. I rewrote mine probably 3 times after the original time and I knew those formulas like the back of my hand!

Are you utilizing everything about Becker? Some people don't like the lectures, but I felt Peter and Tim were able to explain certain things that just didn't click with me. AND they highlighted the most important aspects of the book, which helped me focus in on the problem subjects I had (bonds, leases, and SCF).

Also, I reread the governmental chapter two weeks before the exam because I knew it would be heavily tested.

I know you will do well on 10/1, just keep at it! 🙂
