Just found out i failed the far with the second time around by using the becker self study. (Becker is good, it helped me passed other 3 parts in my first try.) I feel like i understand the material much better than the 1st time. The first time around i got 73, after another month of preparing, i thought i have a good chance of passing it on the retake, because i felt i did pretty good on mcqs, and the mcqs werer getting harder, simulations just can’t be prepared.

My question is how should i prepared for the 3rd time? Still use becker or should change study the material? I tends to be weaker in simulations, what do you guys suggest me to buy or to supplement? how is wiley test bank or CD work and glaim simulation wizard? Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Still use Becker. Once you feel like you've mastered that material, I would STRONGLY recommend an additional test bank. I have Wiley and it's very very good. I feel for some reason it's easy to memorize the Becker answers, so I have been purchasing Wiley for each section. I bumped my REG score up 20 points and I thank Wiley..

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

@peanut, Thank you for the response. What's the difference between the wiley test bank online and CD version? I would refer to have cd, since i dont have internet sometimes.

I agree with Peanut. Becker MC supplemented with Wiley question bank was very good. For FAR, that's really the best that you can do, in my opinion. If you want to get Gleim's question bank as well, it's only $50, but it may be overkill, and I heard a lot of the questions are not on point to the exam. But who knows. Take more time with the test, don't be in a hurry to retake it unless you really have to, and really absorb the materials. Like you did for the other parts, relax and enjoy the ride a bit too. Believe me, I know from the first time I failed FAR with a 74, it was lousy, but certainly not close to the end of the world. I passed it the next time just by almost repeating what I did the first time, just plugging a bit deeper.

@snausages, Thank you for the input, i feet like i can't get any further with becker, if i dont understand a topic very well, i still dont understand no matter how many time i try to answer. maybe i need to have a group study or something.

I honestly think Becker is the best for lectures and reading materials that are closest related to the actual exam. But that's just my opinion and I think a few others share that view. The Wiley text book as alright, but very cumbersome and sometimes painstaking to read. I didn't see a lot of parallel with the actual exam. But the Wiley test bank is excellent. If you are actually having some difficulty with the content itself, perhaps you can ask people? Post us questions once in a while with areas you are struggling with (bonds, pensions, leases, etc.). I find that reading Becker materials complemented with Becker, Wiley (and perhaps Gleim) multiple choices are really good for you. The practice questions only fortify the materials, and can enhance weak areas. If you do the Wiley text book too, I would very much read the answers to the questions at the end of each module after trying to solve yourself. I find that reading ALL the answers (not just the correct ones) are excellent teachers in itself.

Just thought I'd jump in with my two cents worth. If you check out my scores…I used Becker for my first two attempts and Yaeger for the rest. Specifically, on my last and final attempt when I passed, I used Yaeger CRAM and I thought that made all of the difference. Best of luck to you. I despise FAR as well.

    AUD - 82 Becker
    BEC - 75 Becker
    REG - 71, 82 Becker
    FAR - 66,61,71,74,70 and #6 80!!!! FINALLY DONE!!! 9/20/12
Yaeger and Yaeger CRAM for the final battle!

hilaryh_88 is right becker only worked for me on FAR, BEC I used Yeager CRAM and the last 2 exams I used Yeager, Becker and wiley test-bank i passed every time I used both, if you fail twice get Yeager CRAM or the full coarse with a test-bank.

FAR: 7/17/10 missed exam FML reschedule 8/29/10-77 EPIC!
    REG: 5/31/11-73 SMH, 8/31/11-85
    BEC: 4/15/10-72 : retake 10/3/10-80
    AUD: 11/28/10-74, 02/27/11-71 FML, 8/1/11-80
    Ethics 10/22/22-80, retake 11/28/11 - 88

    @joke,

I would agree with Hilary and Killaking. I used Yaeger cram with Becker in addition to the Wiley testbank. The Yaeger cram got me to pass. (Cindy-yaeger, is really good with FAR)

    Best of luck!

Buy the Gleim software. Trust me. It's $50 well spent. I know some of the questions go a bit crazy, but that's good because it helps make the real exam a lot easier. And a lot of the questions really dig deep into the concept, so it will help you understand the material a lot better.
