I am done with the Reg, Bec, Audit but i failed FAR for the second time. I used Roger and wiley material for all my exams. I am thinking to switch to becker. My Score was 69 and 67. Please let me know how can I improve my score. My TBS was really hard and in the second attempt I couldn’t even figure out the research TBS. I suppose research is the easiest TBS in the cpa exam. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!

Instead of highlighting, write out what the lecturers say to highlight.

I agree with thechapman. Writting increases your cognitive function that makes you retain more information. Start from scratch and write your own notes in your own words on how you understand the lesson. It will aid you in memory retention.

Im studying for FAR now, wouldn't writing things out take too long?

I took 2 parts and didn't finish either study plan for Becker's self study without doing extra work (writing out, reviewing, flashcards etc). I don't work full time yet but have a hard time as it is keeping up with the suggested pace.

I've failed FARE five times and decided to add the Ninja MCQs. You probably have gone over Wiley MCQs 20 times so they are already memorized. Try to adding Ninja MCQs and Ninja Notes and see what happens. You don't need to panic yet and completely change to Becker. You passed three tests doing it the same way but need to make a few adjustments for FARE.

    Good Luck!

Thank you all for your replies. I am really frustrated but i think i will have to try harder to get through FAR. I have few other questions.Should I only use Becker for my weak areas and stick with Roger's for the areas I am already comfortable with. Or should I start Becker from scratch? There are some good mnemonics in Roger's course which are really helpful.I also wanted to know how helpful are full length tests because I never took any full length tests before my cpa exams. I just focused on the mcq's and skimmed through Wiley TBS.

For the record, I don't even write things in my own words unless it warrants it. Most times, Becker's explanation is concise enough for me. Either way WRITING your own notes is far superior to highlighting. I've never tried the highlighting method, but I'm not willing to try it at this point.
