    Hey all,
I hope many of you had the scores in your favor. Unfortunately, I did not get a pass for REG. Ended up being super close. This is my first retake of the sections I failed, how should I approach this? I plan on taking this sometime in October so I have some time. Should I even rewatch the lectures or just jump back into MCQ? Any tips are appreciated.

    BEC - 76
    REG- 67, 85
    AUD-63, 74, 80!!
    FAR-65, 62, 57, 79

3 down 1 more to go. BEC is on the Line 🙁

    Are you using Becker?

I am studying for REG right now and take it next Friday. What I plan on doing if I fail is buying NINJA MCQ to supplement with all my Becker MCQ. I also might buy the NINJA Notes too just as a solid summary of the Becker stuff. I also plan on focusing all of my energy on that tax stuff and ethics stuff, as I personally think blaw is dreadfully boring.

I am sorry you didn't pass this time but you will crush it come October!

Thank you! Yes, I am using Becker. I really do think Ninja is helpful I bought it for BEC and I passed on first try. Or it may just be that BEC is the “easiest” one. But I do intend to buy ninja this time. Good Luck next week!

@Spartans92 I got a 74 the first time I took REG. I just went through everything all over again for about 3 weeks, tried to pick up as much new information as I could, and came out with a 85 the second time. Keep what you already know fresh and try to pickup something new on every section. You will smoke it next time!

I have heard nothing but good things about the NINJA notes and will plan to use them for any section I don't pass!

Good luck to you as well! We've got this! On our way to CPA 🙂

I think a thorough learning-from-the-start review is useful; however, watching the same lectures over may not be necessary. What about reading the book? And/or getting a different book (maybe NINJA) to read?

My thought is that there's things you'll learn from seeing the material again start-to-finish and in order that you'll only get scattered bits and pieces of from the MCQs, but the MCQs will be the main part of your re-take prep. Lectures take foreverrrrrr, and you've already got the framework from the lectures, so maybe it's a good time to read the book now?

Course I'm also a fan of reading the book, for someone starting fresh, someone doing a re-take, or anywhere in-between…so maybe I'm just biased. 😉 But it seems like if lectures didn't get it, adding something different makes more sense than repeating the exact same thing. *shrug* But I am biased towards book learning since it suits my style best, so who knows!

Oh Spartan so sorry to read this 🙁 I failed BEC this time and it has destroyed me and my confidence especially since I was “close but no damn cigar”…. I don't know how comfortable you felt with the material in REG so I can't really say how you should tackle the re-take- personally for me and BEC I feel like I know / knew the material as well as I am / was ever going to know it so I plan on just hitting as many MCQ's over an over and over again to really drill home the computations and concepts as well as spending time re-writing my notes. At least for me personally on BEC I don't think watching the videos over again will do me much good– HOWEVER, if you feel like there are sections you just don't feel comfortable with or feel like you need more review of the concepts I would re-watch the ones on those….

    GOOD LUCK!

And they ask me why I drink

REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade

Don't go back to lectures, especially if you were close to passing – practice, practice, practice, and be able to explain why the correct answer is right and why the incorrect answers are wrong. Use NINJA MCQ if you aren't already doing so! This was the only MCQ I used for REG and I passed!

Thank you all! Im sorry to hear Mckan but good luck with retake! I know one of my major weakness is timing difference vs Perm differences, does anyone know how to brush up on these topic? I notice REG doesn't cover too much in detail.
