Failed REG for third time, how to proceed?

I failed REG for the third time. My scores are 47, 60, and 70. I am just devastated. I have CPAexcel, Wiley Test Bank, Wiley Textbook, Ninja Notes, and Ninja Audio at my disposal (though I did go through all of the Wiley Test Bank questions). How long should I spend reviewing for my 4th attempt? And should I just focus on MCQ and sims or should I go over all of the CPAexcel lectures again?

I used RogerCPA's cram course after multiple failures

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

You're almost there! It took me 4 tries to pass FAR and the only thing that kept me going was that each time i scored 5 points higher. It looks like you have a good understanding of the material. I wouldnt switch your review but i would purchase another test bank (Gliem or Ninja). Study all of June and take the exam early July and you will pass.

    FAR- PASSED (11/13)
    REG- PASSED (2/14)
    BEC- PASSED (5/14)
    AUD- PASSED (8/14)

If it's important to you, you will find a way. If it isn't, you will find an excuse.

I'm so sorry. Study for your 4th try just a bit more than you did for your 3rd try (seriously start from scratch, and then some).

Rewriting the ninja notes 3 times REALLY gave me the final push on AUD. I rewrote 10 pages a day, every single day. I was also reviewing the wiley material and doing thousands of MCQ but I am convinced it was the act of rewriting those notes that bumped me 13 points

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Determined_To_Succeed, I know how you feel. I had 50, 64, 73 and then passed REG with a 76. I used WTB (and I also have Gleim MC's) and started over at the beginning and kept at it (MC's over and over) until I could score above 75 on practice exams and that worked for me. Currently working on BEC for a July 2 test date. Didn' pass FAR but already had BEC paid for so I am doing BEC before going back to FAR.

    REG - 50, 64, 73, 76
    FAR - 67, 65, 67 Ugh!!!
    BEC - 65
    AUD - November 30

Just got my score report. Should I focus more on the weaker areas, or should I just start from scratch?

    Ethics and Legal Responsibilities: weaker

    Business Law: comparable

    Federal tax process: weaker

    Taxation on property transactions: stronger

    Taxation on individuals: weaker

    Taxation on entities: stronger

    MCQ: weaker

    Simulations: weaker

I failed REG the first time around. I suggest you study all of the sections again. Make sure you understand why you are answering the questions. I had gone through Becker so many times that I had the answers memorized. So I decided to use Ninja notes and WTB. I also made sure I wasn't answering questions because they were memorized, but because I knew how to answer them correctly. Hope this helps!!

Whatever you do, don't give up!

    BEC: 79 (Expired)

When I failed REG in the fall, I was determined to pass. I used Gleim and the NINJA audio, video, and flashcards. Then, I reviewed the areas that I was weaker in first- and I ranked them by the percentage that they would be covered on the exam. For example, looking at your weaker areas, I would really dig into Ethics because it is about 17% of the exam content, then individual, then federal tax process. Then I would review the areas that you were comparable in. Finally, I would review the areas that you were stronger in. That's what I did because I felt that the score report was accurate- I left the exam the first time knowing that I didn't really get entity taxation and business law. In the 10 days leading up to the exam, I would just go MCQ crazy- especially in the areas that you are weaker in.

I would also continue to do practice SIMS- for me, the research was a bear to find so I tried to make sure that I was more familiar with how the code is organized. I think that research SIMS should be a “give me” type question (I don't know why I think that other than the answer is given to you and you just have to find it!)

But after all the advice, you will still have to find a way that works for you- it may be mix of what you get here or it may be something completely different! Good luck- and I hope this time you see the score you want!! đŸ™‚ Take a few days off and then start over!

(I burned my notes the weekend after I found out I passed- hope I don't EVER need them again!)

Thanks for talking about your failures and successes. I have failed all four sections; I have bad time management skills and would take the exam on the last testing day each time leaving no time to study for a couple. Today I found out I failed FAR with a 71. I had a trending Ninja MC score of 54 in the assessment phase, so I knew I didn’t stand a chance. Reading you story makes me want to stick to it, I thank you for that!
