Hi, lets all be honest here people. How many times did u read the CPA books, and how many times did you do the practice MCQs before u go take an exam?
Also, any special tips u could give me? perhaps using a que card to help memorizing stuff?
plz share ur studying secrets, and did most of u pass the exams with one shot?

I'm curious if you think people are not being honest when posting otherwise?
I read the Becker book as I did the lectures (after watching them). Did ALL the MC questions (except I didn't have time to finish for BEC). And then I read the book in its entirety for my review and did the final exam tests.
There is more information in the Becker book than what the lectures skim over so I found it prudent to read them completely.

for FAR, BEC and AUD I went through the Becker book 3 times. Some questions I did twice, some I only did them once. It' really important for me to understand the concepts, that's why I try to read as much of the book as I can. Also, doing the questions twice really helps I believe.

I watch the lectures and do MCQ after each section in each chapter. After the book and all lectures are done. I go back to the beginning of the book, READ each subsection and do the MCQ for each subsection of each chapter again. Reading was more helpful than watching the lectures.
With the lectures, I'd maybe get 65% on the questions, then of course keep redoing until you get 100%. After reading, I always got a better score: closer to 80% or more. Reading was much better. I did all the MCQ at least twice. The only supplemental questions (Becker thing) that I didn't do was for BEC, they were too boring.

I also believe flashcards or taking notes help greatly. For AUD, memorizing the flashcards help on a lot of MCQs. But I cant say with certainty how that helped for the exam, as I haven't received my score yet.

I watched all the lectues once. say there are 30 I probably rewatched 5-6 on areas I fetl the need. I read each book in its entirety once. I had time to do every multipe choice once, I took every final exam once, and I did about 2 simulated tests for each section. I worked about 30 hours a week as a waiter for AUD and did not work at all for BEC (but did get married in that time), FAR, and REG. I honestly averaged about 5 hours of solid studing each day and took about one and a half days off each week. I took about 5-6 weeks of study time for each section. It seems like this worked for me so far, but I am still waiting on REG. I think if I was working it would have probably passed but with a much lower score probably around 75-79 ish.

I think understanding the concept is the key...regardless of how many times one has to read the book...for me some area was easy but some topics I had to read it 2-3 times to make sure I understand it...like Becker says the more miserable you are the more likely u will pass the exam :)
BEC I didn't read Homework readings or worked supplemental MC..
W1-11 I am anxiously waiting for my Reg score :(

I used Bisk books and software and read through all the chapters in each book at least once, and then answered about 75% of the multiple choice questions. Chapters I felt I was weak on I would reread at the gym, while traveling to audits, during my lunch break, during down time in rehearsals (aka I spent months where I was almost attached my study books and I'm sure there are some people who struggled to recognize me without them!). As test time got closer, I would use the personal trainer feature on the software which would generate questions based on the areas you are weak in. I supplemented my study materials with my college textbooks.
