    Hello everyone.

I have FAR scheduled for 2/27. This is my first time attempt.

I am using Becker and I will be done with CH 9 today and plan to finish CH 10 during the weekend.

All I have done so far is read every chapter take notes, and then do the corresponding MCQ for that chapter. I have not practiced SIMS….yet.

I plan to review for the next three weeks going over my notes and practicing all of the MCQ again and do the SIMS. Do you think this is doable? Or at this point, should I just focus on the MCQ and my notes??

I work full time at a CPA Firm so I study before work in my commute to work and after work.

All honest opinions are greatly appreciated.

Don't panic I have my exam on the 16th and I haven't even done any sims too… Maybe it will make you feel a little better

I don't mean to sound rude so please don't take it that way but you have > 3 weeks before your exam so I'm not real sure what the panic is all about… From everything I've read on here doing countless MCQs is far more important than doing SIMS. Obviously you're going to want to do a few SIMS to get the process of doing them down but other than that I think if you can do the MCQs (and the appropriate JEs to get the correct answers) you shouldn't have a problem with the SIMS.

As you can see from my signature I haven't taken the exam either but, coming from people who have, that was their advice. You have 3 weeks left, CALM DOWN!

Your plan seems definitely doable! I left myself two weeks for review and haven't touched the optional MCQs or SIMS beforehand. I'm currently reviewing all my marked MCQs, optional questions and sims while rewriting my notes. The Becker sims are fairly straight-forward and helped cement the information I learned through MCQs. I would definitely recommend going through them to help you conceptualize what you learned, but don't focus too much time on them.

start focusing on journal entries and throw in some sims between your mcq sets. Journal entries will make or break you

I barely did any SIMS for FAR and was fine. I also used Becker. Reading the textbook a few times is what really worked for me.The exam gets you on small details, that's why knowing the book inside and out is imperative.
