    Hello,

I recently took FAR. This was my last exam to pass and I got a 74. Does anyone think paying for a rescore will do anything? I already scheduled my next test for Mid January and am starting to study for it. The rescore is just something to fall back on in the offchance it actually works. Ive read so many articles that say not to do a rescore, however for $200 does anyone think its worth it since its my last exam to pass?

Additionally, has anyone actually passed with a recore? Please tell your story if you have

    Thanks

It has never once resulted in a changed score unfortunately.

How do you know? Is it a fact or is it just something that everyone says?

    3. Re-score: Worth the hassle (and time and money)?

another71.com: When candidates score a 74 on an exam, the inevitable question that they ask is, “Should I apply to get it rescored?” In 2008, approximately how many candidates submitted applications to have their exams regraded? What percentage of those applications had a score that changed due to the regrading process? How many candidates went from fail to pass due to submitting an application for a regrade?

AICPA: There is no such thing as a rescore or a regrade. The service available is “score review,” an automated score verification process. It involves making certain that the approved answer key was used in scoring and that it was correctly applied. In 2008, score review requests did not result in any score changes.

The AICPA itself says the likelihood of a score change is “less than one percent”

The truth is it is a fraction of one percent. Trust me it is a very tough blow to get a 74, but hit it hard for your next attempt, study as if you never took it before (you don't need one more point, you need 75 more points) and knock it out of the park!
