I’m still quite some time out from the exam but would it be beneficial to begin using a cram course for earlier chapters? Use it more of a review since they’ll be faster on the lectures? I’ve never used a Cram course before so I’m not sure how well Rogers Cram Course is but does anyone have any advice? Should I just review my notes from the previous chapters or would it be beneficial to use the cram course for the previous chapters that way I can keep them fresh in my mind?

    Thanks

Don't waste your money. Roger's cram course for FAR is 19 hrs of video. Guy is entertaining to watch…but reviewing notes, JE's, MCQ's is better way to prepare IMO.

@Justanothercandidate I studied with Roger for FAR and the best thing you can do to keep those earlier chapters fresh in your mind is to go back and constantly do 1-2 sessions of 30 MCQs of previous sections. As you progress, incorporate the sections you just did. Sometimes I would split up the sections…for example, do 30 MCQs for chpt. 1-5 and another 30 MCQs for 6-10, etc. I did this every couple of days further out from the exam and as I got closer to the exam I would try to do it every day. During review I would just do cumulative exams, again splitting them up if I felt the need to. Also, I think you should invest $$ in another test bank…highly recommend NINJA MCQ. It's your best bet to get more practice with questions that are harder than Rogers. I never used the cram videos so I don't know if they are any good but I agree with the above poster that your time and money are better served by reading notes, doing MCQs, etc. If you don't understand something you can always go back and re-watch a lecture…I did this a bunch of times with bonds, pensions, S/Es and other hard sections I didn't understand too well.

Oh, do J/Es with most of your MCQs so you can get practice in for the SIMS and for stocks and bonds, cash flow and also non-monetary exchanges questions you'll see that if you nail down the J/E the answer will come straight out of there. Roger does a good job of showing us how to answer most of those questions by setting up the J/E. This helped me tremendously to understand.

Thanks so much for the insight Zumo. I just finished section 20 and I haven't done to much review of the previous chapters. Will start doing what you suggested. I have purchased the Ninja MCQ, I've found them to be MUCH harder than Rogers' questions. Kind of gets me frustrated since I would do fairly well on Rogers MCQ the first time around and then Ninja just kills me…. Oh well, I'd rather score horribly now than on exam day.
