@dc11219 Your comments worry me a bit. What do you mean the questions are about 1 screen? Isn't each TBS separate? That's how the Auditing exam was that I took last window. Each TBS was it's own problem. In your opinion, do you think the MC was more conceptual versus calculation? I'm wondering if they changed the structure in the TBS because the MC focus more on concepts? With the passing rates so low last window, hopefully more questions will be "pre-test" ones. :) Good Luck to you.
MC focus on concepts heavily. some questions look like it need heavy calculation, but it tests on concept, you even dont need to cal.
@dc11219 Thanks! Last time around I was overwhelmed with all the calculation problems that's why I'm starting to panic again. I take my exam on Thursday and I'll post back with my take on it. Are you studying for any other exams?
For those who have taken the exam this testing window were any SIMS similar to the review software you guys did. If yes, which ones. Also were they on big ticket items and did you have to prepare any financial statements (I/S, CF, etc). Thanks
Yes they were similar and they were not all easy. When a person says they were one screen they mean the "explination" took a lot of the white area before even moving on into doing the entries. For example CPAexcel has some on SCF where an entire BS and IS are presented and you have to pick out the numbers you need. That takes up a whole "screen" and then you scroll down to where the actual entries go.
Each tab was it's own problem and did not refer back to any others. I'm preparing to see several MCQs on things like derivatives and pensions, mainly because of what is in the news the past year. Then I expect to see at lease one pension tbs because of all the issues with pensions lately. I expect to see lots on governmental, again because of the news. HOWEVER, I still plan to be prepared for bonds, leases, financial stmt stuff - pretty much any thing is fair game.
