    Hey!

I am currently studying to take FAR on Aug 25! This is my general study plan…I have a 1 year old so my study plan is a little stretched out.

    Any feedback/tips are welcome!

Also, if anyone else is testing around the same time/using Becker and wants to discuss I would LOVE that! Misery lovvvves company. :)) haha

I’ve completed the lectures & completed my notes ** for F1-F3. I’ve completed the lectues for F4.

** After watching the lectures I spend however long creating notes/summaries/reorganizing the text in Excel workbooks. This helps me visual/review the information. I also print hard copies of the questions and work them. This allows me to read through the explanations, add any information to my notes that seems helpful, rewrite notes in the blank space if I’m struggling with a topic.

This Saturday & Sunday — F1-F3 reviewing notes, working HWs (hard copies), updating notes

    Week of:

    June 30 — F5 (no weekend time)

    July 7 — F6, Saturday F4 – F6 complete any notes & work HWs (hard copies), Sunday F1-F6 comprehensive review/progress tests

    July 14 — F7

    July 21 — F8, Saturday F7 & F8, Sunday comprehensive review/progress tests

    July 28 — F9

    August 4 — F10, Saturday F9 & F10, Sunday comprehensive review/progress tests

August 11 & August 18 — Review…TBD. I know I want to do a thorough review of my notes, rework the HWs on the computer, work through the SIMs.

    August 25 — EXAM DAY!

Anyways, that’s it! Thanks in advance!!

Decided to FINALLY take this beast of an exam...5 years out of college AND with a 1 year old...so here it goes!
    REG 05/28/14 -- 85!
    FAR 11/24/14
    AUD 10/07/14
    BEC 08/28/14 -- 81!

If you do all of that, I'm going to go out on a limb and say 81. It sounds like you have a good plan in place, just make sure you are disciplined enough to stick to it. Do you have someone to watch the little one for you from time to time?

That looks like a good plan. I used Becker for FAR too and I think it's really great material. I would say, allow yourself a few extra days for each section. Some of them will be harder than you think and some will be easier, so it will probably balance out in the end. I spent a few extra days on F5 (bonds/leases) and the tax section because I watched extra youtube videos to understand the material. For FAR, progress tests and rewriting journal entries are the most important because there is so much information to retain. It's always helpful to get extra MCQs from a different source and if you don't want to pay for them, CPA Review for Free has some good ones.
