FAR Exam Experience – I feel Defeated

Today, I took FAR. It was the first exam I have taken so I was pretty nervous even though I felt pretty confident going in.

However, I felt so overwhelmed in the first booklet of MC questions. I must have marked 12 questions that i didnt know. Some questions were easy but like I said, I didn’t know a lot of them. So naturally, at this point, I am starting to freak out going in to the next section.

The second section was a little easier, maybe because I felt I wasn’t as nervous. But I still flagged 10 or so questions.

Third booklet was a cake walk, might have missed 2 or 3 questions.

I felt ok with the sims. 3 of the sims I was pretty confiedent with including the AL questions. 2 were about 50/50 and who knows about the other 2….

Overall, I felt like I was prepared for this exam. I definitely put in the time and was getting in the 60-70% range on the Becker practice exams but I dont see any possible way that I could have passed with so many MC questions I was unsure of. I definitely know what it feels like to fail now, I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad. Anyways, just venting because I needed to get it out…..

    FAR - 80 (11/14)
    BEC - 74 (2/15), 80 (4/15)
    AUD - 91 (5/15)
    REG - 82 (7/15)

Seems like everyone is coming out feeling uneasy about the whole experience. At least you will know and I will know next week how we did. Crossing my fingers for everyone that's waiting for the results

Since this is your first exam, get used to it. And the reason I say that is this…

It's not a bad thing to feel like that after an exam. As a matter of fact, I felt like that after every single exam I took. When asked how I did, I would simply rely “Eh, I definitely failed that sh*t.” Instead, I passed AUD & REG on first tries and failed BEC once and then passed it on the next try.

Keep your head up and begin studying for the next.

Hey OP. All I want to tell you is to be confident.

I repeated principal of accounting twice, intermediate accounting once, business law once, and got C for both auditing courses and both economic classes. As I far as I could concern, nobody achieved lower than I did. But today I have passed all four with the lowest costs, and I am pretty sure I have learned much of them. So if someone like me made it, you will make it for sure.
