Far exam is Monday (3 Study Days Left) and I haven't done F10 MCQ

It takes me forever to get through MCQ. I estimate it would take me through Sunday to get through it. I am thinking about just skipping F10 and spending my weekend rewriting notes, taking progress tests, and reviewing everything instead of finishing F10. I have been getting 70-80 on my progress tests, but it is still scary. I haven’t done any sims because this material is already beastly enough to get through. So…..what say you another 71?

Finish F10 with no time to review older material?

Or start an intensive review of everything?

I would do a combo of both. Personally, I wouldn't skip anything. 70-80% is in that danger zone. I don't feel comfortable with anything under 85%. Do what you can in F10 and move on. Also, I know a lot of people swear by rewriting notes but I got nothing out of it. It also takes forever!! With 3 days left I would focus on MCQ, and other review.

I skipped Ch10 and IFRS and look what happened. Are you getting at least an 80 on the cumulative exams covering the other 9 chapters? If you are , then you should be ok.

@codwater, maybe just do the mcq for f-10 by just reading the answers to the questions and take some notes, the questions are not that many except for dervivatives and hedging but just go through the answer is quicker to learn that way(at least for me), reading the chapters and take notes separately will take more time.

Do NOT skip F10. Same as CR7 … but x2. I skimmed F10 and look what happened. Paid a lot more attention 3rd time around. 3-4 questions from that chapter could decide pass or fail.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

I skimmed chapter 10 and passed with a 77. I didn't see to much coverage on my exam in those areas, however if they put a TBS from one of those chapters it could have a decent impact on your score.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Yeah, 70-80 isn't a good spot, I agree that you should be passing all practice quizzes at over 85% and you also need to sit for a practice replica CPA Exam in full and get over 85% on that before you are “exam ready”. You didn't do any Sims either? Well, it just looks like you will use this exam for “exam experience” to get a clear understanding on how it is to take the exam, but it doesn't appear as though you completed your preparation so the chances of passing appear slim?

I would say this is the main reason people fail the exams……they didn't complete all of the needed preparation…..

    * State of MA CPA Exam Candidate
    - BEC: Sunday, August 24th
    - FAR: Saturday, November 29th
    - AUD: TBA for February 2015
    - REG: TBA for May 2015

Here's my recommendation based on my experience and my friends.

Definitely do the HW and read/understand:

    Partnerships

    ARO

    Financial instruments

    Skim:

    IFRS review

    VIE

    FV measurement

    Contingencies

F10 in my opinion is where the AICPA likes to through a sim at you (ARO, partnership, hedging) since they are small but important accounting topics.

Also don't worry about your progress grades. I was always in the low 70's and I even made a 70 on the practice exam. Its all about understanding the material and not having a huge weakness in one area.
